Some players were unable to connect to SOE websites, forums, and services in July 2014 due to an issue with SOE not renewing the SonyOnline.net domain. This problem has long since been remedied. If you are still having problems… The first thing you should try is to open your Start menu, choose “Run…” and type “ipconfig /flushdns“. A black box will momentarily flash. This will make your computer forget all the DNS lookups it has performed, so when you try to access SOE websites, forums, and games, the correct addresses will load and you’ll be able to see them...
Game Updates & Maintenance
UPDATE: As of about 6:05am PDT, NetworkSolutions.com is reporting Sony Online Entertainment owns SonyOnline.net again. SOE websites and games should start resolving properly for all customers around the world over the next few minutes/hours. To refresh your DNS info, go to the Start menu, choose “Run…”. Type ipconfig /flushdns. Now relaunch your web browser and/or game launchpads. Original article follows: We are in the process of researching this issue, but it looks like the domain registration for the domain SonyOnline.net expired this morning, reverting back to being the property of NetworkSolutions. While SOE did not use the domain publicly,...

UPDATE from Kander: This was an unintentional change. We have a fix coming for it ASAP. This will be fixed on Thursday. We’re not sure if this is just a glitch or an intended change, but every mob killed in Dungeon Maker zones now awards just 1 XP regardless of level or difficulty. Frankly we’re surprised that enough people visit player-decorated dungeons to have noticed this, but we’ve received several reports and there is also an active thread on the forums.

Practiced and Uplifting effects, etc. We are shooting to have this stuff in as soon as possible, we’ve been working on it for a couple weeks. No solid ETA yet. Soon. Happy 4th!
From the EverQuest II twitter: Summer Ethereal Weapons are coming SOON! Check out this sneak peek! [Luperza] — EverQuest II (@everquestii) July 3, 2014
It’s been just over a week since Fabled Deathtoll, a level 95 x4 raid zone opened in Norrath. While the zone and enemies may be familiar territory for Kingdom of Sky veterans, the boss battle strategies have gained a few twists. But perhaps most surprising about this revisited zone is the way loot is awarded. The EQ2 team seem to tried out several new approaches, and so far, the response has been mixed. Instead of the typical drops off each named, certain names drop one-use recipe books that create powerful items. Other enemies drop new cyan-colored adornments. I won’t try...

Consumables purchased from the status merchant are now stackable items. Status merchants no longer require players to...
Ever wondered why SOE patches their games at 7:00am Pacific time? Planetside 2 producer David Carey took to the Planetside 2 reddit to answer this question. Keep in mind that his comments relate to Planetside 2, which patches its US and EU servers simultaneously. As we all know, EverQuest II either patches its EU servers simultaneously with US servers or on an ~18 hour delay, depending on whether the update includes new zones, crucial exploit fixes, or sometimes just the direction of the wind, etc. I’ve seen this asked several times, and I’m not sure if we’ve ever given an...

POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION Tears of Veeshan: Shattered Dreams Spirits will appear for those that require them from slain goblins in High Keep and High Keep: The Pickclaw Depths (both heroic and advanced solo), regardless of the group...
EQ2 has a history of challenging contested heroic zones, and Contested High Keep is no exception. My guild has had some success there and we intend to go back for more. There are some choke points where things are tougher than they should be. First up, certain mobs are immune to specific damage types, requiring the player to equip an item that transforms their damage to spells or melee as appropriate. However these items do not work for Rangers which first and foremost use ranged weapons, so a special arrow type ought to be made available that converts its...

From the EQ2 Forums: You can now decorate your Norrathian homes with animated characters! Dress and animate your House Actors however you want! Add one or an army to your homes!
Normally we don’t post EQNext or Landmark news here, but a lot of EQ2 players are likely looking forward to EQNext.
