Terrors of Thalumbra Beta will go down at 10:00pm PDT tonight to make way for the expansion release tomorrow morning/middayish. No we don’t have an official source for this.
Buying the new deity miracles in Terrors of Thalumbra requires “Tithe”, which is a percentage of XP you earn. Even if you are level capped, you will be killing enemies to gain XP to gain Tithe to buy miracles. If you want to gain more Tithe for the same amount of gameplay, you’ll want the Altar of the Ancients house item, and PRE-ORDERING Terrors of Thalumbra before the expansion launch is the ONLY way to get it! From the EQ2 Forums: Altar of the Ancients is the pre-order bonus item for purchasing the 12th expansion for EverQuest II: Terrors of...
From the EQ2 Forums: Hail Norrathians, This is a quick update to let you know that the vote to unlock Kingdom of Sky did NOT pass on either Stormhold (PvE) or Deathtoll (PvP) in November 2015. From MMORPG.com: EverQuest II will be growing soon with its twelfth expansion, Terrors of Thalumbra. We had a chance to chat with the team behind the expansion to find out more about its systems, features and new zones. MMORPG: What is Thalumbra and why is it important? EQ II Team: Deep underneath Norrath is a realm on the edge of the Plane of the Underfoot known as Thalumbra. This expansive, subterranean domain is home to fabled races and ancient, unimaginable terrors born within the oppressive, dank, and dismal darkness of the dark depths! The tenuous struggle between hunter and prey in...
EverQuest II’s twelfth expansion comes in not two but three editions, including a spendy Premium edition at $139.99. This higher level option adds an Equipment Upgrade bundle (the equivalent of six “gems” or whatever the equivalent in the expansion is), a Weapon Adjustment bundle (change the damage type or delay of up to 3 weapons), and a Darkhaven Cavedrifter mount which, through gameplay, can be upgraded. A recent update to the Terrors of Thalumbra beta, currently ongoing for those who pre-ordered any version of the expansion, has revealed the in-game Achievement which upgrades this mount.
Maintenance is complete as of 11:00am PST: The general maintenance is now complete and services are back online. Please note, @H1Z1game is still undergoing a game-specific update. — Daybreak Games (@DaybreakGames) November 10, 2015
One of the most popular questions about EverQuest II’s twelfth expansion Terrors of Thalumbra, which became available for Pre-order and Beta Testing last month, is whether players would later be able to pay the upgrade price to jump from the Basic ($34.99) to the Collector ($89.99) or Mack Daddy Premium ($139.99) editions. Players also noticed that the expansion could not be gifted during the Pre-order/Beta window. EQ2 Lead Designer Kyle “Kander” Vallee has provided us with answers to both of these issues! You’ll be able to purchase an upgrade to any of the sets on launch day. Gifting should also...
From the EQ2 Forums: QUESTS Power to the Tower should now update more reliably when successfully defending the Power Core.
Should be the last time we need this diagram… From the EQ2 Forums: The server consolidation for the Freeport, Permafrost, and Nagafen servers merging into Skyfire will start on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 7AM PST*. This downtime is expected to take 24 hours, which means these servers are scheduled to be unavailable until Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 7AM PST.*
From the EQ2 Forums: It’s time for the next event in Fall Frenzy! Beginning on Friday, November 6th, Etheral Adorns will begin dropping in Norrath. There will also be DOUBLE Rare Drops! This is the last Fall Frenzy event before the launch of Terrors of Thalumbra. Two important notes: While Ethereal Adorns will start dropping, they will not be double. These events do not take place on the TLE servers. Enjoy these bonuses beginning Friday, November 6th.
From the EQ2 Forums: Norrathians! It is time once again to come together and celebrate all the years of questing, raiding, tradeskilling, house decorating, and socializing that we’ve shared. Come join the fun in the cities of Qeynos and Freeport! There are new festival and Mischeva Event items available this year for either Tokens of Heroism or Micheva’s Tribute. Check with the Heroes’ Festival merchants in Freeport and Qeynos for items such as the “Final Dance of the Fey” or the various Aetoek and Enoxus Replicas.
From the EQ2 Forums last night. Perhaps this will end the login queues… Maj’Dul and Halls of Fate servers will be brought offline on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 9:00AM PST* for server maintenance. Estimated downtime is approximately 30 minutes. There are no update notes for this maintenance. Six weeks ago, GuildPortal, the community site for guilds of over 100 supported games, went offline due to a domain registration issue. This followed a multi-day outage this summer that remains unexplained. However these outages were eventually remedied and we assumed the site would resume operations for the foreseeable future. Yet last night, a terse notice was added to the top of GuildPortal: NOTICE: GuildPortal will be going offline (permanently) by the end of the month. We can only speculate on the reasons for the site’s imminent closure. After 14 years, maintaining the site may no longer bring any...
From the EQ2 Forums: POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION Fixed an issue with bosses spawning in The Fountain of Life. ITEMS [eq2u]Bow of Second Life[/eq2u] now uses ammo. [eq2u]Heart of Underfoot[/eq2u] is now properly part of the Testament of the Titans item set.
On November 8th, EverQuest II will celebrate its eleven year anniversary. As EQ2’s first four expansions each awarded 90 days of bonus time when purchased, some players who have been with the game since the very beginning will soon accrue twelve years of game time. I can understand some hesitation by the EQ2 team to spend a lot of time developing rare/special rewards that few players will ever see, such as rewards from time-limited events. These rewards are discouraging to those players who missed these events. Even though it will be several years until I see this reward, this...
Here is what most EQ2 players are seeing when trying to use the Launchpad to get into EverQuest II right now. Some are able to avoid the issue by starting the EverQuest2.exe client directly. Similar issues are being experienced by some users on the forums and Daybreak websites. More as we have it. and from twitter: Some additional issues with login servers have come up. We're working on it now. Sorry for the continued inconvenience. — Daybreak Games (@DaybreakGames) November 2, 2015
The first two Server Merges are now under the EQ2 team’s belt, with Crushbone, Oasis, and Butcherblock becoming Maj’Dul while Guk, Unrest, and Everfrost were reborn as a unified Halls of Fate server. Soon we’ll see Freeport, Nagafen, and Permafrost become a new combined Skyfire server. The technical requirements of doing a three-way merge has certainly thrown the team some curve balls. In the hours after the Maj’Dul server came up, there were several server crashes due to memory usage. To keep Maj’Dul stable, a login queue was instituted for Free-to-Play accounts to lessen the load. The queue was then extended to the new newly merged Halls of Fate server...
From Carlos “Gninja” Mora on the EQ2 Forums: Within the cavernous depths of Thalumbra, uncounted creatures cloaked in mystery lie in wait for the unsuspecting adventurer. Adversaries range from crafty gnemlin outcasts whose creations have grown out of control, to ancient beasts of indescribable terror unlike any ever seen on Norrath’s surface. Raids range in difficulty, ensuring everyone from entry level guilds all the way up to the most seasoned raiders will have plenty of challenges in store for them throughout the Terrors of Thalumbra expansion! Investigate the laboratory of a nearly mad gnemlin by the name of Bhoughbh...
From Emily “Domino” Taylor on the EQ2 Forums: In the ancient times of the Elder Age, the god Prexus claimed the mighty oceans of Norrath of his own and filled them with creatures of beauty, power, and terror. Among these early creations are the Aberrant (so called by the residents of Maldura who cannot pronounce the name they call themselves), a monstrous race of chitin-domed humanoids innately gifted in the arcane arts. While some abandoned the oceans eons past and dedicated themselves to Cazic-Thule, those who remain still honor their creator, who they know only as the Ill-Seen Master....
