Master Spells?
Considering who it was coming from, my guess is a way to buy expansions/Station Cash with Kronos (but not the other way around, obviously). Either that or the “base” is being moved from Sentinel’s Fate to Destiny of Velious now that it’s two expansions old (AoD and CoE remain separate purchases).
there was a discussion at last years fan faire about bumping up the gear restrictions on free accounts to allow legendary items to be equipped. I hope it is something along those lines. Most likely it is them announcing that another expansion is rolling over though. They were keeping things two behind of so all along, so it is about time to move the cutoff up.
Take a look at Vanguard’s revamped F2P model. I bet it’s something similar to that which will be good. It makes the game fun by ridding itself of the insane restrictions. To encourage subs they give bonuses to exp, money earned etc instead of crippling the free player base.
The best thing they could do is remove spell/gear restrictions.
If they remove spell / gear restrictions, why pay for a monthy sub ? The 500 SC wont cut it. Increasing the use of kronos would be an interesting move. Someone still has to pay real money for the original kronos item, so SOE won’t lose out
i think dov free for f2p.
If they make DoV as the new ‘base’, doesn’t help F2P, as all the gear is legendary+.
The smart move would be to allow F2P to wear legend AND make the ‘base’ DoV..
bump f2p none silver up to legendary and bump silver up to no restriction other then the 2 content behind restriction.
Why change any of the restriction after all you are not paying for the game. If you want the full EQ2 experiance than just pay monthy it not that expensive. I agree with Din.
Because the competition, games like Guild Wars 2, does not have any restrictions on gear. I say removing all the restrictions is a bit much, but lifting the limitations on everything but Fabled will make the game a lot more playable, while still having restrictions and a reason for people to buy unlockers.
