  1. Do you mean, how to add a Character to test or how to Launch the Test Server?

To add a character from live type “/testcopy add” from the toon you want copied over in game.

To access the Test Server navigate to your Everquest 2 folder and there will be a “TestServer” folder, there is a launcher within that folder. It is a good idea to copy you Pak/Music/LoN/etc files from live into that folder too so that you don’t have to re-download them all.

  2. I do believe this will entice me to cash in my 45 free days on Live. To access Test. Isn’t that an oxymoron of sorts? Well, regardless, I’ll be cashing them in after the double-exp weekend, because I really can’t pass up this opportunity to push my alts up closer to that sweet, sweet veteran bonus for my beastlord in November.

Re: The Test Copy Server, what Luminata posted is exactly correct. It’s been a while, but isn’t there a 12-36 hour delay in getting your character copied to Test Copy? Or have they managed to do away with that? Regardless, if you don’t have a Live sub and Live build on your machine, you can’t access Test or Test Copy at all. Which kinda stinks for those of us subscribing to Extended, but also makes a good amount of sense.

  3. Clarification: The Live build is only important if you don’t want to re-download most of the game. Extended uses a different type of assets files than a Live build does. Unless they did away with this with the ‘full install’ option. Yeah, too busy playing to really keep up to date. Um, beastlord?

    *cackles off into the wilderness*

  4. One word if you are going to /testcopy your live characters: Unless they’ve changed things recently (I have toons on the test server already) you have to at least create one character on the test copy server to see any characters you /testcopy over. You can delete that new character, but unless you have at least one character there, you won’t see any characters you /testcopy over.

Like I said, they MAY have changed that, but if you don’t see ANY characters there, try creating one on test copy, logging back to character select, and seeing if you can choose your copied characters are there.
