Feldon EQ2 Servers were brought down this afternoon for an ’emergency hotfix’. No word on what was changed as no update notes were provided. From the EQ2 Forums:
EverQuest II servers will be brought down for an Emergency Hotfix at 2:35 PM Pacific Time. The servers will be down for approximately 1 hour.
It seems unlikely that an emergency hotfix would be dedicated to fixing a (literally) cosmetic bug, but it seems that may at least partially be the case. A player asked:
When I logged in this morning I had a mail with one attachment. I read it and it said something to the effect of here’s a free look change on us (Soe) so I claimed it on my Halfling and when I went to use it my only options were to examine or destroy. It did not activate.
and the reply from Dexella:
This should have been fixed during our emergency hotfix this afternoon.
