  1. I’ll ask if I remember but I’m sure the answer would be the same as other engine upgrades. If I’ve had to much to drink by then I’ll probably forget and ask about bringing back space cats again.

  2. You can use EQ2 on 64bit system. Lots of ppl are playing that way and it works without any problems.

    EQ2 doesnt need 64bit client version, unless it needs more than 4GB to run. Which will not likely happen in near future.

  3. Oh I’m playing EQ2 on Vista 64 bit just fine but since the EQ2 client is 32 bit it can only utilize so much of my system before it caps itself. That’s why people with newer machines wonder why they can run newer games like butter but lag and stutter with EQ2.

    There are advantages to doing math with 64bit architectures beyond the memory cap, for example if your manipulating bitmasks you can do logical operations 64 at a time instead of 32 – but generally the game needs to be written from the start to take real advantage of this.
