      1. You are not the only one I live in Alabama, and heath reasons prevent me from flying. It is a 2 day trip out and 2 days back. That being said. Right now when you need to be assuring you customer base nothing will change, this is hardly the correct thing to do. You want folks to rally around your new company. I lived in in 2006 when they were in Atlanta only a 4.5 hour drive.

  1. It makes sense to postpone the event. The ‘powers that be’ have to figure out what their new budget will be and how much they have to spend on a Fan Faire as well as figure out who will negotiate such an event now that Sony isn’t involved. And given how bad the loot was last year (remember the black paper bags LOL) I was wavering on attending this year anyway.

  2. They may have to roll it into other conventions for 2015…and as someone above mentioned…Sony contracts no longer apply, so there will be some legal stuff involved.

If we see ANYTHING in the near future, it’ll be more like a ‘street party’ where they hold it in San Diego.

As for people who can’t get enough “Vegas is expensive” whining to satisfy them…I can assure you that I’m well traveled and the only place you’ll get better value that offers a lot to do all day and night….is if you just stay at home and ‘pretend’.

NOW I have to figure out where and when this year’s vacation is coming….soooo….kegger @ Feldon’s house? 😈

  3. Hubby is retiring, so guess we will go RVing somewhere spectacular.
2016, I am expecting something awesome in my goodie bag, not a 66 slot bag that people can make in the game now. I like showing I WENT TO FANFAIRE awards! it makes people thing hmmmm maybe I better go next year!

  4. I for one am not in the slightest surprised by this, the contract(s) they had basically likely went up in smoke the second it changed companies. As someone else mentioned, they also don’t know how much and where they want to spend money yet I would think.

  5. I’m disappointed – we finally went for the first time last year and had so much fun we wanted to do it again. We budgeted for it in making this year’s vacation plans.

Maybe we can do a real *Fan* Faire and get something going ourselves – maybe some local meet and greets.

  6. A great place for fans to meet is the Texas Renaissance Festival. I believe it is the largest in the United States. Not to expensive, and fans can dress the part if they wish and nobody would give it a second thought. It is located just North West of Houston.
