If you will be at SOE Live (formerly Fan Faire) and have an interest in hosting a Player Panel, either as a Lecture or Discussion Panel, you have until September 14th to submit an application.
From the EQ2 Forums:
We know you come to SOE Live to hear us rabbit on about our various areas of expertise, but I bet you’d just love a chance to get up behind a microphone yourself, to offer advice, information, share your opinions and help out your fellow players. This year, we’ve set aside a room that holds up to 76 people and blocked out several spots on the schedule for both Friday and Saturday, ready and waiting for YOU! That’s right. We’re inviting you to create and host your own Player Panels.
Sessions can be presented by an individual or a panel of up to four people. We’ll do our best to accommodate as many submissions as we can, but we do anticipate a lot of interest, so please don’t be crushed if yours is not selected this year!
Presenters and panelists will gain a free all-access pass to SOE Live (does not include add-ons such as laser tag or Dev Brunch). If you’ve already paid for your pass this year, we’ll refund your fee!

Wonder if any (currently universally angry) European players will a) apply b) get approved. Cynical? Me? Never.
European Customers are nothing more than an accident to Soe, it seems so. No single attempt over the years to do something like fan faire for european player base. And than they wonder why Europeans always complain.
I think it’s a great idea … thought about applying and then remembered how much Linda Carlson likes me (not so much).
I do hope they get some interesting things going at the panels.
first, Dungeon Finder: Make our content for us!
now, SOE Live Player Panels: explain crap for us at FanFaire!
ffs.
I don’t get it.Isn’t tossing around ideas, bitching about broken content, etc…kinda what forums are for?Even if the devs attended, and that cast of clowns running things, odds are you’d hear the same BS as always.’We’re working on that, working as intended, too much coding required, hey check out the new SC items”.
I’m sure some people have great ideas for this, and maybe i’m way offbase here? I suppose at the very least, you could have a discussion with about being banned by some jackass mod.
I ran a community panel years ago at a Fan Faire on the pros and cons real money transactions (before we had them). It was actually fun, we had a good discussion. Of course it didn’t matter, because they went ahead and implemented it anyway.
The only reason to have these is to plan a get-together for players that’s more structured than just hanging out or going to an SOE panel, where no one really gets to say anything other than ask questions.
I agree, though, I don’t think the devs/staff are going to be able to say all that much, but the devs are a great group and I am sure they would enjoy a lively discussion that didn’t involve complaining. How to run a raid, or how to recruit, for instance, doesn’t involve asking for itemization changes! That could easily evolve in complaning about how hard it is to keep players when the itemization is a mess, however ….
@Gash
1 player create dungeon
2 player own panel
3 player create fluffy thing to sell on marketplace
4 sony take cash and just let player do all the things.
I wait to see player debug the game, perhaps we ll have it improved at this time.
5 Player design your next xpac contest ? lol.
+1 for one european fan fair… by SOE, not the “other”
Do SOE still have someone working on EQ2 seriously (every working day) ? beside forum morderation/ban.
best way to dont listen what player have to say … let player talk to player.

And i dont understand the point to telling them something that got writen hundreds of time on forums.

@KWILL “That didn’t involve complaining,” complaining is a positive thing, without that we cant fixe what is broken…. It’s like a doctor who no want see sick/injuried people.
