Believe it or not, time marches on and there are still semi-weekly updates to talk about, so…
MERCENARIES
- Mercenaries should do much less damage in PVP combat. This should have no affect PVE combat.
ZONE PROGRESSION / POPULATION
Plane of War
- The Enraged War Boar now stands guard near the zone entry.
Vallon’s Tower [Challenge]
- During the final Vallon Zek fight, The Vallonite Volley Commander will limit the locations he spawns at.
You may be wondering what in the world those last 2 line items are about.
MMO Design Suggestion: If you are designing a raid progression zone, and you add trash mobs that drop awesome items, make sure that killing those trash mobs trigger a zone lockout requires more than one group. 😉
Not only did it trigger the full lock out killing trash mobs, the fact that SOME (I stress some, because it was only 1 type) of the trash was killable with a small number of people (though still in good gear) was because of a clear lack of any sort of common sense. They put buff packages on mobs without consideration for is this mob by itself, or is this part of a grouped encounter. So in order for the grouped encounter to not be too hard, the solo mob with the same buff package is going to be pretty easy.
They can’t seem to understand this. But hey, congratulations us on unlocking Plane of War and needing 408 Crit Chance for the first named. Because everyone can get 408 Crit Chance, even in Drunder gear, right?
But I guess then you’d have to not only understand the mechanics you clearly don’t, you’d have to understand the games itemization that doesn’t make even the vaguest sense. Itemization that you’ve said you are looking in to for 9 months.
Relax, in another 9 months you’ll be able to buy the gear needed in the Marketplace. >:(
I noticed Amnrys is posting on the forums … under one thread from a returning player on how to download the entire game. I think it’s almost worse to see them there, but not commenting on anything substantial.
You should play on Splitpaw then, soon we can buy all that gear/power potions, and PoW won’t be a problem for even casual guilds 🙂
I’m honestly not sure what the big deal about one-grouping the opening trash was. I seem to remember farming the opening trash in Palace of the Ancient One with a single group all the time in TSO in the hopes that the upgraded gear that dropped from them would help us on the named through the zone.
Maybe I’m the only one with that long of a memory, though 😛
