From SmokeJumper on the EQ2 Forums:
I don’t have the ETA yet, but we are making the purchases and we’ll get the hardware replaced on the servers that have not yet been upgraded (Guk, Everfrost, Unrest, Butcherblock, Permafrost, Oasis, and Splitpaw).
It’ll take some time to get these changes implemented (takes a while to order them, get them delivered, and then installed at the various data centers), but we’ll update you with details when we know more.
They’re coming!
its for US Only server? or any little chance for eu too?
oh sorry.. he edited his post on the forums…. only for Guk, Everfrost, Unrest, Butcherblock, Permafrost, Oasis, and Splitpaw.
Updated. The article now shows the servers being upgraded. As Merkor mentioned, SmokeJumper updated his post with more info.
Woot lag has been horible on guk since the merge. Finally a glimmer hope
Awesome news too, Splitpaw felt overloaded before DoV launched and after it launched I found the lag up’d the difficulty to solo classes like my poorly geared ranger.
Its also good seeing SOE put serious money into the game, it dispels for me any doubt about EQ2 being a priority since an investment like this is only done if there is going to be a longterm return.
Great news for sure, while not all servers are being seen this round of upgrades hopefully some hardware can at least be shuffled around to improve performance there too.
Thanks for forgetting Vox.
little late, most people on unrest already quit lol
Was Vox and Bazaar not the two server upgraded last year? I think they are not forgotten, they are updatet already. We have some more crappy servers with megalags like Valor.
