I have to admit I have been impressed at the speed of responses to issues on the EQ2 forums yesterday. If you are at all familiar with all of the various parlour tricks which have been necessary to gain XP at the maximum rate to help a character severely behind on AAs, you’ll know that one of these tricks has been to “lock” your character below the level cap.
Why? Because Vitality, a +200% XP bonus after yesterday’s update, is disabled at level cap (90). So there is a HUGE penalty for dinging that final level.
Good news from Rich Waters after the jump…
We looked into this today and will make it so you can accumulate and use vitality at level 90.
With the recent boost to vitality (from 100% bonus to 200%), this should make it faster to earn AA experience at max level. After this change goes live, we’ll keep an eye on it and see if any other improvements are needed.
This is likely to happen by game update 58, if not sooner, as Rothgar and the code team find a place for it in their schedule.
After trying to get straight answers about XP and specifically about vitality, it’s good to know they realize that leveling to 90 is currently such a penalty. The irony of this is, with the exclusion of Recruit-a-Friend, with all of the changes going in to XP, we may get more XP after GU58 than we do now with all the various tricks. That’s the hope at least…
August 24 Update from Waters:
This is a change we’d like to get done soon, so yes it’s on the high priority list. We hope to get it into the next game update or sooner, but don’t have a planned date to give for it.
Another good change, after all the bad bits of GU57 its good to see the problems getting straightened out. Now they are saving players from themselves stopping that annoying lock at level 89 to maximise AA.
And also are probably selling a few more vitality reseting potions, not worried about that though myself.
Who thinks they owe us another double XP weekend? 😛
oh this is nice to hear 🙂
