  1. Robert,

Sorry I didn’t get notes on who received the various rewards. I know the last two years, either with a T-shirt cannon or just by throwing, they gave out a ton of T-shirts. And the prizes for the Live Quest, Tournament, and Costume contests were VERY generous including high ticket gift cards. This year, for the Tournaments, they had all the members present in the group/raid roll large dice to win 1 item. So a group that won a Live Quest or Tournament got ONE item to divvy up among the group.

In past years, the freebies have come down like rain. This year, the well was pretty dry. Considering how many people went for the Platinum ($140/per), I thought they might be able to keep that generosity of past years.

Remember, for this year’s Fan Faire they originally weren’t even going to have a Welcome Address. They put one together in the last few days leading up to the event.

It was clear that they really cut back on expenditures at Fan Faire this year, probably 30-40% less than last year. I’m worried about SOE.

  2. Also, the PA system was so quiet in the EverQuest II panels (which took place in the ballroom/banquet room) that a lot of folks who came to Vegas to watch these panels ended up reading EQ2Wire on their phones just to tell what was being said.

Good for me, but sad they flew all that way and can’t really experience the discussion.

  3. Blockparty was really sparse on prizes too. Last year they had raffles all day and gave away stuff like g15 keyboards and gamecards/station cash. This yeah they had like 4 giveaways and only for like the youngest/oldest/person from furthest away and it was some wheel of prizes or something

  4. Billy won a a $200 gift card and $10 in Station cash. It was the wickedest fun I have had in a long time and I hope I provided good entertainment. I was proud to represent my guild (Company of Wolves), server (Mistmoore), and raid alliance (Fortune Hunters of Mistmoore). And the coolest thing? I could scratch myself in public and get away with it!

Oh yea, if anyone has video of this, would love to talk to you about getting a copy, my battery died halfway through the Judges portion and I did not get video of the Fan Favorite portion.
