Arg. Right when class starts. >.< Guess I'll have to wait for ya to post the recorder video here rather than get to ask question during the live stream. Such an odd time, but I guess they have to do these during office hours.
Such an odd time for who?
Indeed.
Were Marketing on the ball, the live announcement would be done during ‘Primetime’. Like TV news or TV programs, which are broadcast at times to maximize viewers.
The 10AM PST/1PM EST broadcast time works, IF you’re a multi-billion dollar corporation like Apple
http://www.theverge.com/2015/9/4/9259567/apple-iphone-6s-release-rumors-tv-ipad-preview
“at 1PM ET / 10AM PT”
and want to maximize world wide press coverage.
But when you’re a ‘small’ company like DBG with a ‘small’ user base, a live broadcast should be aimed AT YOUR CUSTOMERS. During their prime time viewing hours. And oh DBG, apparently the bulk of your (U.S.) customers, during the day, are mostly at work or are in school.
Just a thought.
Although if DBG wants to provide the statistics for EQ2 play during the day, showing 10AM PST/1PM EST is primetime play time, I’m sure EQ2Wire/Feldon would be glad to publish them.

What Time Is Really Primetime
“Traditional primetime is eight to 11 o’clock at night, Monday through Friday, but Nielsen finds that more Americans tune in from 9:15pm to 9:30pm than any other period during primetime.”
“age is a factor. Viewers ages 18-49 typically tune in later. For this demographic, 9:45 to 10:00pm is prime viewing time”
So did they realize charging people $15 for patches was a bad idea and went back to expansions?
Looks like it. I thought it was a terrible idea when it was first announced, but I didn’t see them backing off that quickly.
Im assuming the Rum Cellar didnt sell very well, Im glad it was a dumb idea.
I think if you polled EQ2 players, their #1 response to “Why didn’t you buy Rum Cellar?” would be “Because I don’t know how much the fall update will cost or what it will contain.” If it had been stated earlier that the fall update would be a full expansion for a reasonable price, Rum Cellar would have flown off the shelves.
$15 mini expansions might have been their response to the uproar over the price of the last expansion, (IMO). They aren’t the first game to have people pay by zone.
I’m happy to see the return of expansion though. ^_^
