    1. The difficulty of creating outdoor overland zones is finally gone with EQ2’s new Terrain Editor, which means this should be the last of the repurposed zones.

Wait for the Art & Animation panel to get posted. An EQ2 dev was able to create a large island zone in 10 HOURS that would normally have taken 10 WEEKS.

      1. Well I’m aware that the EQ2 team has been largely understaffed as SoE transferred many of them over to the EQNext team over the past few years.

But is this new Terrain Editor really going to make a difference? I’ve used plenty of different game engines ranging from brush based (UDK, Source), Middleware (Gamebyro), to Sandbox (Cryengine, NWN2 editor).

Making an island is one thing, but making it detailed, fleshed out is another. What exactly is EQ2 made in though. Are the zones created in a 3d model making program then converted over to a middleware engine?
