In addition to some much-needed Itemization tweaks, the big ticket item in today’s patch is a revised Merchant Window. The new window allows filtering the item list to only include items of your level, class, and which you can equip. There is also a new interactive Search filter box which limits the results to matching items. And finally, for those who sell a lot of items to merchants, a “Double Click to Sell” checkbox.
It’s nice to see all these new features and usability tweaks to the EQ2 UI such as the Player Casting Bar, Autoattack Timing window, Auto-attack Preference, Quest Target icons, and Quest Baubles. We expect even more improvements in the upcoming Chains of Eternity expansion as well!
Strange. Blizzard recently added merchant wares filtering by class to WoW as well. Sounds to me like someone at SOE participated in the panda beta.
Nice. This also reminds me that a long time ago I heard they were working on a “sell all junk” option similar to what is in SWTOR, RIFT and other games. In EQ2, it would auto-sell anything that’s only a source of cash when you clicked the button to do so.
Did they implement that and I’ve just missed it, or did that die?
@Camelotcrusade: I think that was something Rothgar was talking about adding. It’s possible that he took the idea with him when he went to EQ2Next and nobody else on the EQ2 team remembers it. 🙁
@Dethdlr. Good memory. It was well underway, by the sound of it. Oh well. Link: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?start=40&topic_id=506046
@All… Unless this effects the Broker I’ll consider it a waste of time.
A check box on the Sell tab for “Hide Not for Sale” would be awesome.
