Hail, friends!

In order to make sure that Game Update 61: The War of Zek gets ample testing time, we will be launching this update on Thursday, August 25th.

We look forward to sharing the new features and content with you, and will have more specific information on the downtimes for the update later in the week.

They probably found a pretty big bug right near the end of testing that would take a day or two to fix.

I’m sick of all the creaking whiners and complainers who still end up playing the game anyway because it really is the best MMO out there. In the seven years of game time there has been more up-time than down-time and you people need to stop acting like little 5 year old princesses and just play and enjoy the game. Put yourself in their shoes and see how you would feel after 7 years of constant bitching by customers as you try to bow to their ever whim. So run along and quit being such a D-bag, if this game is so “horrible” for you people then go play something else or maybe take a couple minutes to stop and realize that IT’S A GAME!

In traditional fashion they have yet again failed to surprise anyone. We all knew that it was going to be pushed back.

Why not just hold off on it until they are ready instead of pushing something that is not going to do what they intend properly?

They can’t say we are not done because they need to work on the expansion. lol. That way they can break even more stuff. 🙂

Well I wish they would be honest too. But more than that I just Hope they fix the broken stuff before they release it on us. I would rather wait a MONTH than have to deal with crap like VALLONS tower raid zone, which has been out for months and still broken so that u cant ZONE into as a raid force, unless u break the raid down one group zoning then another till raid is in, time consuming for those of us that raid only a few hours a few times a week 🙁 WHY havent they fixed it…. So IMO yep please HOLD off dont release HELL on us! Fix stuff 1st exspecially big things! I have such a LOVE/HATE for EQ2~~

In response to Kurtis, are you SURE EQ2 is the best mmo out there? See this for data — http://www.mmogchart.com/Chart2.html

EQ2 looking bad from what I’m seeing. Not to mention the fact that there’s hardly anyone ever online anymore 🙁

The chart looks extremely made up, you can’t just throw a bunch of lines on a graph and call it statistics dude. Also, subscribers has nothing to do with game quality. Look at the amount of people who subscribe to WoW. Based off of gamer ratings, more people are satisfied with EQ2 than most other MMO’s. The main reason that EQ2 is so low in subscriptions and isn’t bringing in new players because of all the trolling D-bags who have to comment on everything that pops up in chat instead of helping new players when they have a question which instantly puts people off and so there goes on average 3 subscriptions because 1 person was treated like crap just for asking a question so he isn’t going to refer the game to any friends. As for the delay on the GU, people are bitching that Sony can’t get the update out fast enough for an update those same people don’t even want. That’s like complaining that you don’t want another beer and then bitch at the bartender for not giving you one fast enough anyway.

For a new player entering the game, I agree that first impressions would be that there seems to be very few players around. Trust me, we are there. The reason for this is that most of us are in guilds and are porting back to our guild houses which offer many amenities for travel around Norrath. This can make the online player population look very poor, leaving the city streets barren of player activity.

Also out in the zones, higher level players will probably be flying, leaping, or gliding above you to reach instanced areas where they disappear again.

Perhaps when the cities of Freeport (soon) and Qeynos (in future) become quest hubs we may see a change in perception for newer players.

But I digress from this posts topic of the GU61. Disappointing that it got delayed – yes, but its still cool that it should be here in time for the weekend and not pushed back to say – next month.

Why even roll a druid now :(. They should do the kind thing and give all druids a free pass to change to any class and just remove the conitnually nerfed and neglected class from the game.

@ Dharvane I don’t know what game your playing but on guk it is always busy. Last night alone during prime time hours we had 4 Great Divide zones.

Saying nobody is around sound like hyperbole for sure.

I know a lot of folks are upset with this new patch, but we already lived through what I term the NGE that was the velious expansion. Now they are just trying to bring everything back in line, a possible huge mistake.

A three year old chart showing FF XI having flat subs for two years?

I call shennanigans. The DOFUS numbers look bogus as well. And the site in general hasn’t been updated since 2008.

Come back when you have real evidence.

I also agree with Kurts comment
“subscribers has nothing to do with game quality”
same can be said for all forms of entertainment
    — popular music, popular movies, etc does not mean quality

By the way the http://www.mmogchart.com/Chart2.html is bogus. The information in there is not based on any measurable numbers, official or unofficial. It’s guesses.
