Beginning July 12, 2011 at 1:00 a.m. US Pacific Time, we’ll be performing maintenance on all games and services. During this maintenance, our forums, websites and games will also be unavailable. The estimated downtime for the maintenance is 7 hours.
We apologize for this interruption and will resume the affected services as soon as the maintenance is completed.

Maybe the rest of the servers will get upgrades? maybe maybe maybe? =(
Thats a long downtime, my guess is security upgrades.
Wow 7 hours got to wonder what they are fixing. Not seing any update notes yet.
It’s all Games and Services, so that would be Platform. Security upgrades maybe.

Everyone is tired from Fan Faire … taking the day off. Just kidding, it probably is security!
Smokejumper said kilts would go live on Tuesday, so it seems like there’s at least some game-specific patching as well as what seems to be SOE-wide maintenance.
The last of the EQ2 server upgrades are over the next 2 weeks I believe. The only un-upgraded servers will be the newest Russian servers, Vox, and Bazaar. The former because it is newer hardware (2007). The latter due to server population.
I just hope it is only 7 hours and not 10 or 12 as these things tend to be. LOL
Going through withdrawls already…been up 5 hours and no EQ2 fix is like not having coffee for a week! Let me into Permamoore! lol.

OMG now been 7 and a half hours and im going through withdrawls….come on eq….come on….im getting desperate…LOL getting the shakes

7 and a half hours….. what are you basing that time frame on? it went down at 1am according to the above message US Pacific Time….. that means NOW it has been 7 hours.
7 hours….started 10am in sweden,its now 6pm.
8 hours and i want to play.

As a business trying to keep customers, you would think they would just say 10 hours, and then be in a bit more of a positive light for being done in 9. Not impressed. If I would have seen a more realistic downtime, I would have gone to bed after work. Instead I’m just venting on some forum. Thanks, keep up the good work.

So this seems to be becoming typical… By 7hours they mean 13, and by updates/releases they mean re-doing their **** ups.
wait, so you’re telling me you’re not upgrading vox due to population? sweet.
10 Hours and not a word on status…it becomes harder and harder to trust SOE for anything they say given update times. Half the time the Network page says the servers are all up while they are down. Today’s upgrade is over 3 hours from their posted time. I understand the need for security and upgrades, but why disrespect the customers by not posting update notes at least indicating the true status and length of downtime. Peeps just want to know and plan their day as well.
You forgot to mention that some people spend a lot of money on their chars/accounts. SOE is proving to be trash and unreliable.
