In the last Webcast, we were told to be on the lookout for a trailer for EverQuest II‘s seventh expansion Destiny of Velious. This trailer is now exclusively available for viewing at Massively.com.
Watch the trailer at Massively.com and then come back and post your comments about the trailer, as well as your thoughts on what has, to us, been a very low-key (some would say hush-hush!) launch.
Ya the advertising has and always will be pathetic… I must see a DCU commercial on G4 every hour, but never a single eq2 ad. I guess they are really hoping for the websites and word of mouth to keep people subscribing.
Too little too late is the only thing that comes to mind really. The trailer is “decent” at least but it seems to be aimed at people who are already/once were subbed to EQ2.
If you’ve seen the Rift intro, this trailer is almost similar… Odd… But tbh Rift pales in comparison of EQ2. From what i’ve experienced in beta its good! and it’s only the beginning…
I think the trailer was epic. =P Been then again I’m a huge fan of this game not a disgruntled player lol.
@Karith
I didn’t even know people played this game that weren’t disgruntled in some way o.0
I just started playing myself but most everyone online seems to be very narcissistic
I liked the trailer, even with its goofiness. Made me excited, which should be its intention. I especially liked seeing someone sitting down in a chair. That is probably the biggest change that I’m looking forward to. 🙂
If they added a /sit command, I didn’t see it in the Update Notes.
Its a very very good trailer for once, it tells a story, shows the graphics off and hints at the features inside, just about spot on.
The official sentinels Fate one was lacking in comparison, ironically a fan trailer did actually hit the mark there (I’d recommend anyone to do a search of Youtube for “sentinels fate fan trailer” if you have not seen it, it is very good and told me more about why I was in SF then anything SOE released, plus the “I am Lincoln” music is beautiful and well paced to the video).
Getting excited to finally get into DoV.
(And I didn’t see anything about sitting either during Beta, I suspect it was quietly moved to the backburner again to be ninja inserted in a week or two, that’s my guess anyway – it wouldn’t be a total surprise to see it there at launch).
I would say “meh” no real “sell” of the contents or the brand this is clearly aimed at current players, personally I am going to Rift after being subbed since 2006. I may be back we will see.
I thought it was a pretty good trailer.
