Extended Update
Today’s update, slated to take two hours, took nearly four. A now locked Discussion on the EQ2 Forums.
From the EQ2 Forums:
ZONES / POPULATION
- Fixed a bug where characters logged out in membership only zones would not be playable if your membership lapsed.
Scourge Keep [Heroic]
- Added a gong to the arena which can be struck periodically after the arena starts to summon a single enemy combatant a time.
- Undead orc combatants will enter the arena at a slightly increased rate.
QUESTS
- Clicking the throne in Scourge Keep [Heroic] now offers the heroic version of the mission, Tower Run, instead of the advanced solo version.
- Siege of Zek: Sacrifice – Bailin now spells his own name correctly when speaking.
- Some timed quests now grant Green Hood faction.
- The “, Jaggedpine Avenger” title is now a suffix.
- Kept in the Keep – Reliquaries now respawn.
- Missing Tools of the Trade – Quest is now offered and can be completed in either Zek, the Scourge Wastes [Solo] or [Heroic].
- Trapped in The Keep – Scourge Keep dungeon quest is now offered in both Zek, the Scourge Wastes [Solo] or [Heroic].
- Seek the Sneak [Solo] or [Heroic] – Grassblade now appears for those on this quest, even if they also have “Trapped in The Keep” active in their quest journal, but he will not stick around long to chat.
- Wight Time to Go [Heroic] – Oarwille Wight spawns properly for those who have completed “The Wight Stuff [Heroic]”
- Hound of War Sigils will now continue to drop after you have met your quota.
- Hound of War Sigils is now no-trade.
- Players that have completed The Siege of Zek: Rise of The Sanctifiers and did not receive account access will receive it after logging into the character that completed the quest.
ITEMS
- a Silentflyer owl egg – Silentflyer is now spelled correctly.
- Coldain Insignia Rings may now be purchased off of the Shady Swashbuckler
- Chosen’s Altar of Erollisi Marr can now be properly placed in house or guildhall.
- Increased the potency and crit bonus on Scourge Wastes raid armor to be more in line with progression above heroic.
- Conversion belts are now infusable, and the final versions have increased resolve.
So still no fix for those of us that received 2x solo mounts after completing the solo and heroic questlines… disappointing.
The heroic questline was never meant to give a heroic level mount. It was meant to give you the mount you got for completing either solo or heroic. The bug was that it gave it twice not that it gave the wrong one.
Ah I see. Thanks for the info. I saw Kaeporah Gladwing had been disco’d and though that was the heroic quest mount.
The disappointment comes from the fact that when you’ve ToT gear, there’s not a lot to get in Zek. The Heroic Keep is quite tong to run and rewards almost nothing good. Can run Uzulu in 10 minutes…
Itemisation is so wierd. Why get gear less interesting in a content that comes after ToT ? And even when you get some it’s frustrating. Mages can have a very nice BP in Chamber of Immortality (so easy that you can Duo it) in 10 minutes. Other class don’t even know if a BP drops somewhere…
I guess its all in what you’re looking for, for your character. As a ToT raider, i found a lot of my jewelry was replaced when Zek came out, and my weapons got swapped almost immediately. Because of it, im capping out CB and my Pot is over 7k, but still running group buffs from some of ToTs content. I play heals, but after the swap to Zek gear my DPS went from 20mil zone-wide to nearly 80mil.
Take a closer look at some of the heroic drops again, Zek gear seems (to me) to focus on massive Pot values, increased CB on some pieces, wdb stats where they haven’t been before, and gigantic amounts of ability mod to supplement the aforementioned increase to potency. All of which had been limited by ToT gear e.g. even when every piece had ability mod on it i couldn’t break 100k, Now i’m at about 112k and havent even reforged for it yet.
Well yeah, but that’s because beating up Varsoon and taking his robe is an EQ2 tradition since 2004…
Honesty, we really need a post from the devs about itemisation this GU. Your average player is confused re lack of procs, and large potency numbers on some gear. Some players seem “in the know” about this, but it’s frustrating when there is no official heads up. Literally 10 mins spent composing a decent post on forums would do the job. Isn’t this what Roshen is paid to think about? All he has to do is sit with a Dev and get something down. It’s not rocket science.
