From Holly “Windstalker” Longdale, here is an update about instability and lag spikes on the EQ2 game servers over the last few weeks:
Howdy Norrathians,
We are digging into the server performance issues that you are reporting which devs are also seeing during play times. We will be adding new logs in addition to ones we are reviewing now to track some specific server issues based on your feedback. (We’re kinda digging into everything, really.)
This is a high priority.

hopefully best solution will not be closing some of them and merging them into one bigger ?
Don’t give them ideas…
I’m just happy that something official has been said at least acknowledging the problem. The last two days (raiding) on Splitpaw have been almost unplayable. Wednesday we had to gave up, last night we persisted, but it wasn’t enjoyable… And the forums are littered with others servers having the same issues. So, I just hope ‘a fix’ isn’t too far off… But next raid Sunday and I am predicting much the same sadly.
The fall back server merger idea is just so bad.
I could swear this seems to constantly be a priority for a small while, then just goes away without anything actually improving.
There are big changes going on in the back end ready for the changeover to the new DB platform. Given the dev team is half what it was, that can only mean twice the problems at least.
They didn’t even have enough devs to properly test the last several xpacs let alone such huge and fundamental data reorgs.
Oddly enough, the zone lag got better for me…after replacing my old modem.
I’m still seeing a lot of data incoming to my end, though. Is the game pushing out more info than it was? If so that could account for it…
Clearly a DrumsUI issue 🙄
