So everyone knows, we are adding a good amount of new items to Dreadscale’s Maw. These will be similar in quality to the items we put in Deathtoll. Practiced and Uplifting effects, etc.
We are shooting to have this stuff in as soon as possible, we’ve been working on it for a couple weeks.
No solid ETA yet. Soon.

Loot table updates don’t need to be put on an unpopulated test server raid zone. Roll this out NOW. We’ve already stopped raiding Maw because the loot isn’t worth the effort.
Just curious, is there a raid guild that tests the raid content on test (regularly)? I’ve never seen one unless by schedule with a dev close to expac time.
So, what, they put the raid at one date and the loot at another?
Yes, I know it had loot, but…seriously?
Who exactly is guiding the work at SOE these days, anyway?
My guess would be that their current focus is on Landmark, which not a single soul that I know will wind up playing. Thank goodness at least single player games seem to be making a comeback these days!
Ok, let’s find some positives…the devs are listening to the players and fixing both FDT and Maw’s loot. That is clearly a positive. WRT the FDT loot, they tried something new (nice try), it didn’t work (if fully sucked) and they are trying to fix it. That is a positive.
WRT the testing on beta, I don’t think any raid guild is raiding exclusively on beta. Devs schedule guilds to raid and they test mechanics. The testing guild never see the final raid named.
It’s just a shame it’s too little too late.
None of the recent game updates including Maw and Deathtoll have made any sense to me
Take Maw for example, supposed to be end game raid zone for this expac and was stated to be relevant in the next expansion similar to how Plane of War lasted a couple expacs. Maw mob level of difficulty is good and the scripts overall are fun but the overall loot does not line up with the level of difficulty.
Now factor in Deathtoll. I attempted to pug raid this on an alt and Fireflyte (sp)? pops into the zone on AB and tells us that the level of difficulty is on par with “Mid ToV” referring to Guardians Edifice. Needless to say the pug raid did not even remotely stand a chance.
Later- resists are raised on legendary gear to around 11,500 which is odd because it is higher than raid acquired jewelry that sits over 1k lower than that… The overall assumption is that it was to help pug raids stand a better chance in there but really extra resists are not going to do it for them and what’s the point of expecting pug groups to stand a chance in a “Mid ToV” level of difficulty raid zone?
And the kicker: the loot in the easier of the two zones is by far better.
Overall I am very disappointed in recent choices in regards to these raid zones. Loot in maw generally undesirable. Loot system in Deathtoll extremely undesirable while the loot is outstanding.
Loot expectation were set extremely high once the “uplifting” effect items were introduced and those set the bar really high. Very few classes would prefer a damage proc item over an item that can give upwards of 40-90ish WDB, CB, Pot etc.
SOE said the loot in Maw was supposed to be like POW and will still be best in slot even after the new expac then they put in DT that has better loot than maw in it already even before the expac,. But the catch is only if your a tradeskiller that can experiment that is. Experimentation heirloom WHAT? I just lol on that.
They put worse raid gear in AS than heroic gear.
They put better raid gear in Labs than AS also.
The gear in Guardian a lot of it is a joke and nobody will equip it due to the stupid effects on the stuff like stuns entire raid for 3 seconds, or you rez someone then you die, or does massive ae damage to entire raid. Oh and thats not all.Really? lol
So you have raid leaders saying dont equip this on your main raid toon you can roll on it for an alt only that you dont use in raid.
Not gonna list everything but its all a big freaking mess in my opinion and you wonder why people are leaving the game. Hey lets get rid of all our top raid guilds now.
SOE needs to get off the crack.
This is the problem with stopping the progression of character development for years, Re: level 92-95 cap. When you add levels in increments of 10, you get to fully revamp gear and the old stuff becomes irrelevant.
I’d like to see the levels increase to 105 to give the devs a chance to re-baseline all gear and abilities.
