Fan Faire Welcome Reception Live Webcast @ GameBreaker.tv

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Daybreak Live (SOE Live/Fan Faire)

The SOE Fan Faire Welcome Reception on Thursday July 7th @ 7PM PDT (10PM EDT, 04:00 CET) will be broadcast on GameBreaker.TV with a Pre-Show at 6PM and a Post-Show at 9PM.

As past Welcome Receptions have rarely run over 1 hour, it will be interesting to see what’s planned for the 2 hour timeslot scheduled. Last year’s Welcome Reception almost didn’t happen due to cost-cutting measures, but was brought back by popular demand in an abridged version. A lengthy Welcome program would seem at odds with the recent sacking of the Agency team, upcoming decommissioning of Star Wars Galaxies and all Facebook games, and other belt-tightening throughout SOE’s portfolio.

I recall the 2009 Fan Faire when Vivox offered a livecast of the Welcome Reception touting the new voice service built into EQ2. All of us stood outside the Reception hall for 1 hour past the scheduled start while they got the kinks worked out so players at home could hear SOE President John Smedley speak.

I signed up for this, not being able to attend FF this year.

As of Wednesday AM, there were 27943 free tickets left.

I am curious to see what this is like tomorrow!

Glad Feldon is there to report on it live.

Why was this not sent out in an email to SOE subscribers?

talk about complicated sorting the virtual ticket, it sent me tickets for the actual event??? had to copy paste url to find the actual live broadcast bit. I suspect not mailing it out to subscribers might have caused all sort of security concerns amongst player base after the “hack”… who knows.

Not mailing has nothing to do with the hack. SOE always has had questionable marketing and communication skills.

I am on there now, turns out the “tickets” were just to “optimize their bandwidth” for the number of users, according to a moderator.

    Kwill, isn’t that great!?!

I wish for once something SOE planned would actually work right the first time.

(dangit, I’m starting to turn into one of those constant complainers)

Working now, it’s great quality. Thanks SOE for making this happen, and Vivox.
