Search Engine Rankings

Internet search engines use many different methods to rank the results of searches. One method of choosing which page to show first is by counting up the incoming links from other sites. The theory is that the more sites that are linking to a given page, the more likely it is to be useful. But what if you just want to show ads on your site and trick people into visiting? How to you get a higher ranking in the search engines? One method is to use programs that go out and post comments on websites that include links to your site. Then when the site is indexed by the search engines, they will see these links back to your site which will increase its ranking.

EQ2Wire Spam Comments

EQ2Wire.com receives its fair share of spam comments that are automatically marked as spam by the filters in place (over twenty thousand and counting). Some of them though are worded in such a way as to make it through the filters. These are the ones that the moderators here at EQ2Wire have to read through and approve or mark as spam manually. It’s usually fairly easy to tell the spam from the actual comments, especially when you look at the sites in the links. In the six months or so that I’ve been here at EQ2Wire, there have been a few that have caught my eye.  Here are some highlights for your amusement from the 120+ from September 2010 after the break (links have been removed from the original pieces o’ spam.):

September 2010 Highlights:

Advantageously, the article is actually the greatest on that notable topic. I harmonise with your conclusions and will certainly thirstily look forward to your forthcoming updates. Saying thanks will not simply be sufficient, for the fantastic lucidity in your writing. I will at once grab your rss feed to stay abreast of any updates. De lightful work and much success in your business endeavors!

I’ve never appeared at it by way of that point of view and have been enlightened. I’ll have to get some extra information and report it back. Thanks.

That’s a nice post. Belief besieged allotment. Smilee

I was just talking with my coworker about this the other day at Outback steak house. Don’t remember how in the world we landed on the topic really, they brought it up. I do recall having a wonderful steak salad with sunflower seeds on it. I digress…

That was a different thought track. I like your finesse that you put into your work. Please do move forward with more similar to this.

Why have you deleted my post? It was very helpful information and i assure atleast one person found it helpful unlike the rest of the comments on this website. I’ll post it again. Fed up with obtaining low numbers of useless visitors to your site? Well i wish to inform you of a new underground tactic that produces me personally $900 daily on 100% AUTOPILOT. I possibly could be here all day and going into detail but why dont you just check their site out? There is a great video that explains everything. So if your serious about producing quick cash this is the website for you. Auto Traffic Avalanche

hi nice blog, some very helpful info i am studying phlebotomy at the moment

Took me heretofore to study all the comments, but I exceedingly enjoyed the article. It proved to be Really pragmatic to me and I am foolproof to all the commenters here! It’s forever nice when you can not but be advised, but also entertained! I’m accurate you had horseplay column this article.

There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game.

The analysis sited is indisputable. I have to say that tom might examine his details and re-think his conclusion. The authorites have spoken plus the rest of really need to to respect that. Thanks for your very well laid out into.

Conclusion

And the spam keeps on coming. I’m not sure Feldon pays me enough to go through all these. Wait a minute… Feldon doesn’t pay me… I do this for fun… Never mind. 🙂

The thing that I receive but don’t understand are the anonymous comments like these that do not include a link or any obvious product endorsement. I’m never sure to approve them or not.

There are rarely links in the actual comments we get here but there are a few. It’s usually the link they post for their website that gets linked to their name. It’s usually a dead giveaway here.

I would suggest adding the “Bad Behavior” plug-in to go along with WP-Spamfree or Akismet, it will help trash automated spam bots.

The following poster has been banned on five separate occasions from posting comments on EQ2Wire that were insulting or flaming other members, or trolling. After 5 separate e-mail exchanges, I warned this user to stop commenting here and that their next comment would result in their e-mail address being posted publicly. He has continued nonetheless.

He continues to submit comments on an almost daily basis. Perhaps if he receives some e-mails from other members he’ll get the hint to stop?

In case you think I am being unfair, I want to point out that in one post, Brian/Chris Shearon/Keene mocked players who predicted that Free-to-Play with a more powerful StationCash store was coming. Then a week later, he lambasted players who complained about powerful StationCash items, stating “Why do you care what another player has?” Switching sides of an argument to generate maximum controversy and negative attention is the modus operandi of a troll.
