GU56: The Underfoot Depths

The Underfoot Depths from EQ2Players:

Halas Reborn, scheduled to launch at the end of May, brings us two new raid zones. The first of which is the Underfoot Depths, accessed via The Hole.

Brett “Timetravelling” Scheinert gave EQ2Players a brief interview about this new raid zone.

Players have cleared all of Sentinel’s Fate’s normal-mode encounters and all but one of the challenge-mode encounters…just in time for us to add 20 more normal-mode encounters and eight more challenge-mode encounters (which practically doubles the raid content available at level 90). I am very excited at the chance for players to test their mettle against both the Underfoot Depths and the new Icy Keep raid!

The new Icy Keep raid zone, seems very promising, although the loot that we have seen drop on test was worse than the worst LvL 90 legendary loot.
The Underfoot Depths is a zone to vomit and vomit and vomit. It’s Trashnebula v3.0. I haven’t seen so many trash mobs in the whole f*cking game, like in this particular raid zone and not one of them dropt anything on our try in this zone on test. When this zones come on live I sure as hell will sit on the bench, I don’t ever want to fight trash mobs for hours to get to one named. This zone is a bad joke and a major timesink.

I’m sad to hear that about the underfoot depths zone, Lemur. Did you /feedback about it while on test in hopes they reduce the trash?

From what I understand it’s meant to be a bit like Veeshan’s Peak; sprawling and expansive. It would be pretty boring and unimmersive if there wasn’t at least SOME trash between nameds/wings, I just hope they add some random trash drop loot like in SoH/new zones, or reduce the trash by a bit.

They could add some nice trash loot drops, just make them rare – Or give the mobs a chance to drop smart loot Masters..

Other than that, I hope they don’t choose to nerf them to easy mode trash (Think Palace the first room) where everyone just ran through all trash trying to get the higest parse possible..

Its ok with trash, they just need a loot table so they are actually worth killing, and smartloot masters could be a good choice there..

The trash is weak, and can easily be massive pulled and blue’d down. (which is what we did, pulling 50+ mobs at a time), the trash does drop loot, nothing of which is worthwhile thus far (only 4 exquisites), the encounters are pretty unique thus far, 3 nameds down.
