We have encountered some unforeseen issues that we want to address before unlocking Accounts and Commerce, to ensure that we provide the best possible experience for all our customers. At this time, we expect Accounts and Commerce to come back online this afternoon. We regret that the unlock on EQII servers will also be delayed to this afternoon.
While we have no solid eta at this time, we will continue to update you as quickly as we can as more info becomes available!

Problems after a massive update?
Color me shocked.
I got curious when I saw that people were saying their characters were locked/not showing up. I was able to use the launcher to get into my character screen … all ten characters showed up (that’s all I have), but the launcher said I get no more without buying more slots. All of them said locked, but it appeared that was because the server is stil locked, I assume. I am curious as to what will happen when all the services come back on line and the game is in a (semi) functional state.
They should have just said, “game coming down for 24 hours, come back Wednesday.” At least that would have been realistic.
Never expect to actually play much on expansion launch days. But hey, it couldn’t possibly be as bad as TSO launch, right? Remember that massive plat exploit that got half the population suspended on day one? Fun times.
Kwill I get to the same screen as well but it is telling me that most of my charcters are locked because I am above my limit. Which is complete horse bleep. I have had this account since launch, and have been paying subscriber. So they have a problem some where. I don’t mind the extra downtime, but I refuse to allow them to tell me I have to purchase additional slots to get beyond the 4 charcters that are unlocked.
Egads!!! Just figures thered be delays… /sighs waiting as i stare at my locked character screen rolling my eyes and tapping my foot in anticipation.

Its sony they push for evry thing erly. Like they have doen with evry other game and it always has alot of problems and bugs. Oh Btw SOE ADVRETISE!! mabey you wont have to merge server or put out unfinished content if people knew this game is out there!!
yea, my characters are all there, but says that I have to buy new slots for the toons I already bought slots for. suprise suprise
surprise surprise how about you wait until the login servers are actually up before assuming. this always happens, login and game servers sync when all up.
Mesa, you can tell a lot of how things are going by there progress. You should know that. 😛 With that being said, it was pretty obvious there were some errors in there scripts.
@ Argond – what about KOS? the gazer eyestalks in TT were worth, like, 16 gold at vendor, which was actually quite a lot of gold back then – they didn’t suspend anyone but they ended up really screwing up when they tried to take gold back from people…took gold from people who had never even looted an eyestalk, took too much from those who did, missed some of the main exploiters completely – anyway, yeah, launch day is an excellent day to do some laundry, walk to another state and back, or do just about anything besides participate in the launch
Yeah I have just noticed 2 of my toons are locked this morning when yesterday I had 2 slots available for new characters.
I realise it is unintentional but it would be nice if just once these changes went to plan.

Heya Zaph they always lock your toons until server is online no worries they free up when servers come back online 😀
was able to load to the character select page and shows my 6 toons but 2 of which are unlocked, the other 4 are locked, says i need to purchace char. slots? wth

So Server is locked. When you closed login screen it tries to open the eq2 Website. Looking in the options-menu you cannot switch this off. great stuff ^^.

Reading the patch notes, the top-end game will be painful for free players:
* Pristine Repair Material is now heirloom (aka no more tradeable stacks of 120p)

I love how I can get to the marketplace but the only thing available is the expansion and extra character slots. Irony at it’s finest.

I realise the server is locked as are the toons but when I look at character list I see 2 of them with locks (the image of a lock) next to their names and the comment “This character is currently locked because the character is beyond your current character limit”.
All the rest of my characters are fine and do not have this.
How about an update on when it’s expected to be up and running? It’s been +3 hours since this post and nada but fluff letters. Lets see what we paid for already.
Nope not me I played on Karana and Ayonae Ro before I gave it up.
Last expac preordered a month prior to launch, but it was not sent until the day of launch–meaning extra mailtime I had to wait.
This expac I purchased ahead by download, so I asked for time off work to be *first* to play.
Sucks to be waiting still.
How about an update on this post? It’s been 4 hours and nada, zippo, zilch, not an iota of status information. You want player feedback, here it is, keep us informed.
ok, when is the downtime gonna be over? i have been on my PC since, well, dang, can’t remember… i just want my CE AoD expansion!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did anyone’s credit card get charged for the pre-order?
@Crixs doesn’t appear they have charged mine yet. Although it was a last minute decision to actually pre-order, did it about Midnight EST. I am regretting it already.
