Last night, Daybreak Games sent out an e-mail to everyone who purchased the Terrors of Thalumbra expansion which includes a “Thank You” video and a Survey. Here’s the video:
The Terrors of Thalumbra survey seems to have some really good questions which will hopefully elicit useful responses and measurements. Here’s the introduction:

Didn’t get the survey.
You don’t need to, you can participate in the link in the article.
Yea but it worries me I am getting some emails but not others, lost out on the station cash holiday emails with codes last year for same reason.
I haven’t had mine yet either. I suppose they’re probably staggering the dispatch of them as I’ve noticed they’ve done before in the past. I think their email distribution setup definitely could be better that’s for sure.
So no survey for people who left game after 10 years of playing it? 🙂
I got the survey on all 3 of our accounts. I just hope they read the free form comments.
Please rate the infusion system. I wish there was a zero, I would have given it one. It a huge plat grab, and well I am not using it at all. I just take the infusion items I get from missions and using them as vendor fodder.
All the item growth in this expansion is from infusing. Items are easy to get. What takes time is building them up. Discarding infusing items means you will be done with the expansion by the end of December.
Yup, and it’s an absolute snooze-fest.
Yep.
Yes, but the ‘heroic’ gear in the next expansion will most likely trump the gear which took so much infusion effort to obtain.
Exactly.
Lol I preordered it first day and they don’t send me a survey. Only emails I miss are like the station cash ones last Christmas and this survey, I get all the non important ones about stuff in game or stuff to buy lol.
Hopefully they don’t flat out disregard the comments. My inner cynic tells me otherwise though. 😐
same here 🙁
I am also wondering if this survey is a result of poor sales.
They did a survey last year despite very strong sales for Altar of Malice. The difference is, last year the questions were like someone read the bullet points off the box. The questions this year seem to be written by someone who plays or designed the game.
Good point. I had forgotten about the survey last year after the launch of AOM. Maybe I didn’t remember it because the questions were as you said like reading bullet points off the box. Maybe the nature of this year’s questions made me feel that they are concerned with the direction the game is headed and/or have noticed the steep decline in the player base. I have also noticed that compared to AOM at launch, TOT even during prime play time usually only has 1 instance up where as AOM had several instances up.
I can’t believe how empty the game is now. When AoM launched there was 6+ instances of either overland zone. Now most nights there’s just one instance of one zone… Maybe they should just merge what’s left into a single server.
Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day; not the best days to complain about lack of population in any game. Maybe the middle of January when most of the holidays have calmed down and most of the students have returned to respective institutions of education would be a better time for such an observation.
Has nothing to do with the date that the comment was posted. It’s an observation from the launch of the expansion.
What i can not believe is how far they have taken eq2 mechanics away from the original intended game play. How unbalanced the dps classes are, Im a 12 year veteran quitting this game with my head held low. What was once a thinking persons game, where solid game mechanics ruled the day. Each class could obtain a scene of purpose in a group or raid, now poor wizys and locks have no place because the daybreak team is ignoring the fact that they killed 2 classes, rangers in quest gear are doubling every ones parses. And the list goes on. What is sad is to pay for a broken game.In hopes daybreak has any real interest in their fan base other than their wallet…They do not. When they lose all of their fan base keeping food in their mouth and letting them live a lifestyle payed for by us, Just like world of Warcraft they will start “working again” to provide customer serves.
Well said. I think the majority of players past and present feel the same way.
