Update as of 3:45pm PDT:
After 33 hours, and despite a false start mid-morning, the new Maj’Dul server is now up and running! Please read our FAQ below for answers to the most common questions you might have. This new server combines all the characters and guilds from Butcherblock, Crushbone, and Oasis. The EQ2 dev team have been logged into the new Maj’Dul server, monitoring the situation, and answering questions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Help I’ve lost my hotbars!
A: Type /load_uisettings and choose your character from your previous server.
Q: My EQ2 Launchpad still shows characters from Butcherblock, Crushbone, and Oasis. How do I fix this?
A: You will need to go to Character Select screen and then close EQ2 for your Launchpad to be updated.
Q: When Guild Halls come up, why doesn’t Call to Guild Hall work?
A: Before anyone can Call to Guild Hall, at least one member of the guild will have to visit the Guild Hall Attuner item in their guild hall to trigger an update to everyone’s Call to Guild Hall ability. It may necessary for every person to travel to the guild hall first and re-attune your CtGH.
Q: What’s with this Login Queue where I have to wait up to 2 hours to login?
A: This is a temporary queue to maintain server stability as thousands of characters are logging in for the first time since the merge. Subscribers don’t experience this queue, only Free-to-Play folks. This queue will go away soon.
Q: My Guild was renamed to something else or with X’s and Z’s appended to it. How do I change it?
A: Currently the FREE in-game /guild rename feature is disabled. When guild renames become available again, have your guild leader type /guild rename <name> omitting the < and > marks.
Q: Can I buy a Guild Rename potion on the Marketplace?
A: If you absolutely positively cannot bear to have an X or Z after your guild name until the next server patch, you can spend $25 on the Marketplace Guild Rename potion. But really, just wait for the next update (probably Thursday morning) which will enable the FREE in-game Guild Rename feature
Q: My Character was renamed to something else or with X’s and Z’s appended to it. How do I change it?
A: Type /rename <name> omitting the < and > marks.
Q: My character from Butcherblock isn’t able to choose the title “of Butcherblock”. Why?
A: This is a known issue that will be fixed in a hotfix tomorrow.
Q: What is the server name in-game for the purpose of sending tells/mail?
A: In-game, the server is Maj_Dul, so /tell Maj_Dul.charname is how you send a message.

As of 8:20am PDT, some characters are sporadically starting to show up on Character Select, however the Maj’Dul server remains locked.
We are unlocking Maj’Dul with a queue to monitor any issues. We will open it up when we confirm there isn’t a ton of clowncar issues. #eq2

Great FAQ Feldon!
What if I have toons on the servers being merged and my home server has no open slots, What happens to the overflow of characters? so lets say i have 7 slots on Unrest and have 7 toons filled in those slots. On the other two servers merging with Unrest I have a total of 7 toons. That would give me 14 toons but I do not have 14 slots……. What happens which toons do I get?
It’s just one big pool of slots – not per server. So this should have no effect on your character slots.
Yeah dont mind me im sick and slept for 1 hr last night lol i figured it out when i went to log in. I was thinking EQ1 style not EQ2 some reason. Head is just swimming atm
12 noon Pacific… Maj’Dul locked. However, Hubby’s account (which has an open character slot) CAN create a new character on Maj’Dul. /le sigh
Correction: New Character created but upon selecting the offered Maj’Dul server we get a message that the sever is unavailable. Oh well, at least it IS listed as a server.
“The hamsters are tired…”
And the guinea pigs are still waiting.

Thanks for this post… forgot about UI stuff going wacky due to server name change.
4:43pm Pacific, Maj’Dul down
Damn almost had all my toons logged in and setup…am I going to have to do it again?
I am going to exit and re-run the patcher
Minstral and Akkadakka both on new server have mailed gear to an alt on permafrost server (Ards), but when iv logged onto her there is nothing in my mailbox from my alts on majdul
the que is obviously made to get u to subscribe
so I have to dump her Ards and get onto majdul with my other alts, well that sucks don’t it, be interesting to see where my plat went along with the reactant gear I made the little thing
From the EverQuest2 Twitter account:
that’s fine but still doesn’t answer the question
it tells me on majdul ( inside guild hall) that I cant send gifts to different worlds, that’s ok but give back what iv already sent
done just will create another tune and dump ards pity tho
is there a timeline set up for guk and others
I’ve got the problem that my characters are shown for Butchblock and Maj’Dul server and I can’t delete the ones I can’t use, just the ones on Maj’Dul, but also I have just 2 slots that are active and 2 locked ones. So actually I have 1 active character. I already started the launchpad for about 20 times but it doesn’t update the characterslots.
