Yesterday, a merchant offering the rare heroic drops from Altar of Malice zones appeared on live servers. Players were quick to report how much was missing from this merchant and how high the prices were. It seems EQ2 Lead Designer Kander agrees, at least on the first part…
More rares coming. We missed an entire directory. Sorry all, we are really in full tilt for the expansion and things slipped by. More items soon.
and:
An update with lots more stuff, rare, bows, etc coming Thursday, September 17th.
Apologies everyone, we are marching forth with the expansion.
Well it clearly shows they don’t read there own forums when multiple people post about stuff missing when the merchant went on test.
They pay so little attention to what comes out of that server, why should this be any different?
My issue with these is always too little too late.
These come just before expansions. There may be 1-2 pieces of utility gear, but overall these are nothing. They require either a ton of saving before hand or lots of playing in the lull before the next expansion.
If they had released this with the Rum Cellar, you suddenly have new zones. New content. And old gear. It would push people to try this new content and then if you add a double token weekend, you suddenly have everyone pushing the new content for gear and tokens.
That said, the fact that if you roll and you don’t get a fabled item, you get 5 of the potions/whetstones stones is nice. Big improvement on last time.
It is nice to see the feedback from devs, and whatever the result a double token weekend (or two) would be welcome here!
Well I beat it out to that Merch as soon as I read Windstalkers comments. I awoke on the floor of the tavern, beaten and robbed for all the plat I had on account of going to that Merch I posted a sarcastic response on the forums lol
Geez that’s a lot of coin guess maybe the prices are a wee bit to steep for all but Queen Antonia.
