Amongst a few other fixes, today’s update largely focuses on Level Agnostic Dungeons. While at least one confused poster thought that LADs were supposed to present a “challenge” for a stacked group, in fact LADs are specifically designed to address the lack of grouping in low levels by allowing low and high level characters to group together on somewhat of an even playing field. Stats are brought up or down as needed so that a level 20 healer can keep a level 94 tank alive. As part of today’s update, Afista has posted a featured article on the subject:
We’re happy to announce that the update on February 3, 2015 will increase the maximum level for Agnostic Dungeons to level 94! These zones have been adjusted so that you can group with any of your friends between levels 20 and 94, regardless of your difference in level. We’ve also made some adjustments to make sure these dungeons are fun at any level! Looking for some new rewards? We’ve got those too. Make sure you check out the level 90 equipment that will help you gear up during your adventures! So where should you head to check out these update?
There are currently five Agnostic Dungeons in the world, ready to explore. We also plan to add more dungeons to the system later this year! Here’s a closer look at each of the five, currently available dungeons:
Charasis: Maiden’s Chamber
Deep within the terrain of the Jarsath Wastes, this catacomb is full of glowing runes and frightening foes. Are you willing to make your way through these treacherous halls and confront Drusella Sathir? The Library of Erudin
Something is amiss in The Stonebrunt Highlands! Head to The Library of Erudin and search for clues throughout the zone and help discover who murdered the Scholar Primarch. This is the perfect zone for adventurers who want to solve a mystery!Najena’s Deep Forge
This lava-filled dungeon is located in the volcanic depths of Lavastorm. Are you brave enough to fight through the fiery space and face Firelord Kaern?Vasty Deep: The Conservatory
It’s hard to deny the beauty found in Vasty Deep: The Conservatory, but there’s also danger concealed in the gorgeous halls of this instance. Are you willing to discover what treasure the mighty dragon, Delahnus the Dauntless, is guarding? The Temple of the Faceless
The Temple of the Faceless holds many horrors found within the Eidolon Jungle. Adventurers will need to travel deep into the temple in order to face the mighty dragon, Venekor, and claim his loot!Want to experience these updated dungeons? Players can access these zones by joining the queue through Dungeon Finder Tab from the EQ2 Options Menu or by visiting the zone-in statue located in Qeynos or Freeport.
Can’t get enough of these dungeons? Well, we’ve got more updates planned. In addition to more zones being added, we’re also launching the Cross-Server Dungeon feature later this year!
For more information about the improvements we’ve made in these dungeons, you can take a look at the update notes HERE.
I wonder if the cross server addition will be only for L.A.D or all dungeons accessed through Dungeon Finder? some of the lower populated servers could really use it
I’m frankly so SICK and tired of lower levels getting TONS of handouts why don’t we just have an ALL upgraded account to buy? Then none of us would have ANY work to do for ourselves!
How about give the paying and playing players some advantages?!!
Bring on the server grouping merges and things will be A-OK, we are all dying for this cause to occur…spring is approaching soon when we heard talk of this, bring it on, stop giving handouts!!!
So you want it to be impossibly hard to level up to max level, right? So everyone can “earn” it?
But then the very next thing you do is complain that there aren’t enough people to group with at max level.
Did you even read what you wrote before posting it?
With the dungeon maker having been used as an xp treadmill and buyable heroic characters, how does THIS even compare to being an unfair “handout” for nonpaying players?
So you want server merges because, I suspect, that you believe there are NOT ENOUGH high level folks to group with. Well LAD will allow more players to {nearly} reach those lofty heights and potentially be able to group with folks. Also, how about instead of this me me me me attitude how about helping your friends level up so they can join you in your adventures. This is what’s really missing in the game.
LAD is welcome in the game – now I more quickly bring up my lower level alts to join the high level ones in fun and games.
To be quite frank about this, all but one of my toons are level 95-100, these agnostic dungeons do nothing for me at all. It might help those who are trying to move up with xp, but if you are going to do it right it needs to go to 100. I can honestly say as a fact. I only see folks advertise maybe once or twice a week to run this agnostic dungeons. You want to fix the let level up problem for a lot of folks then you need to hand out more xp for overland zones, and for the current zones.
Same here. Unless SOE give me a free character slot, I have nothing under level 95 to go a play in LADS and I’m certainly not deleting any to make a new one.
See, the thing is, that’s evidence that the LADs are working. LADs aren’t formed in channels, people just queue up and it puts them into groups. When you see people advertising in channel it’s because there aren’t enough people queueing. That only happening once or twice a week is a huge success for EQ2 low levels.
Rampaged through these with guildies last night, had a blast!
If only the “current content” was as fun and playable…
I’m 93 on my tank. For some reason I cannot get into agnostics but get placed in a 90+ regular dungeon. Did somebody step on this too ?
Are you opening the correct tab?
