    1. The problem with the theme song is, it’s almost impossible to remix. I’ve tried. In my head and in music programs. It just does not lend itself to remixing. I was hoping to do a trance version for an EQ2Wire video intro. No luck.

  1. I know EQ1 has five more years of development, and it can be nice to see these zones “re-imagined” into EQ2 . . . but it would ALSO be nice to see something that is absolutely and completely new and has completely never been seen in EQ1.

Even in places like The Void and the Ethernere, we saw places like Paineel, the Hole, and even High Keep. Sure some of the dungeons were different, but it just always seems we’re running on the heels of another game.

Now we’ve got Brokenskull Bay (which, admittedly, I liked in EQ1) in this new expansion and, with recent events, the restoration of the Moon of Luclin . . . Are we gonna get spacesuit appearance gear, next?

I’m torn: the homage to EQ1 is nice, and it is . . . easier (for lack of a better word) for development to pull from the existing lore of EQ1 . . . but it also would be nice to see something completely and entirely new that has NOTHING to do with EQ1.

    1. That would require thought, inspiration, and creativity. SoE entirely lives off the legacy of Classic EQ. They know all they have to do is pull the nostalgia card to get their most faithful fans in check or attempt to sway other fans back to their games. That said, I hate the term ‘re-imagined’ since EQ1 zones weren’t known for artistic merit or detail.

Broken Skull Bay didn’t exist in EQ1. You’re thinking of Broken Skull Rock which was the island in the LoY expansion and also ‘reintroduced’ in EQ2 as tiny spec in TSO compared to how big it was in EQ1.

    1. I’ve wanted them to do something like reclaiming Kaladim for quite some time. Though I think it should be a truly epic questline that returns control of those areas back to those who held them originally. Could open up a lot of new stuff by doing so.
