I had to do a double-take. These are last month’s (April 8th’s) update notes.
?
Feldon.. We have May and you posted Update notes from April 😀
Deja vu, you already covered these notes a month ago 😉
Yikes, April 8th?? Um copy paste error?
The May 7th update notes have now been posted. And this post has been thrown into the past by two years. Happy hump day! 🙂
To be totally honest, it’s been 4 months since I logged in to EQ2 and after 6 years, there is a certain burnout factor which is unavoidable. Dethdlr chips in when I goof up, but he prefers working on EQ2U. EQ2Wire could really use more staff.
And by “staff”, he doesn’t mean the infection. That’s staph. 🙂
At this point I’d take either. 😉
Man, I’m really sorry you’re feeling bummed about the game… completely understandable. My best friend, who got me started 3+ years ago and is an almost-epochal veteran herself, hasn’t been able to bring herself to play for about a year now, and isn’t sure she’ll ever come back, even though she still keeps up the subs on her main accounts. I took a long summer off, myself, last year. Let’s hope something whets your interest in coming back before you reach her state of antipathy! 🙂
Thanks for keeping up with everything as much as you do, though. I really value EQWire, it’s my primary go-to source for breaking news, before the forums.
I think the only way I have lasted this long is, I basically took Sentinel’s Fate off.
I really would like to bring on a helper or two, but that mostly means posting update notes or hand-picking stuff from the forums. It’s not as easy as it sounds/looks. I’ve auditioned a few writers and either they couldn’t (or wouldn’t) get the hang of formatting posts, or they want to post commentaries about what they dislike about the game. Usually these commentaries were short on context and perspective and made little attempt to see both sides of the issue.
Wow Feldon I sure hate hearing that. I know folks get burnt out, we are seeing a lot of that on guk, many folks have up and left for parts unknown, others have transferred servers. One thing for sure player base is down. I wish you well, and hope you find something you can have fun with.
Well I’m not going anywhere until we get Quests and Loot Tables added to EQ2. I’m rather pissed that it has taken so long to get this data but what can we do? I just want to get all that stuff added to EQ2U so people can enjoy it.
Yeah, haven’t seen you on BB in quite a while Feldon. Just thought you were on alts or something. I’ve played off / on since launch myself and have had several periods of boredom or burnout. I took EoF off and CoE so I understand “expansion skipping”.
I won one of your sentinel’s fate beta keys for the “hidden south qeynos” entrace in QH, so I really go into that one and enjoyed SF!
Hopefully, like me, you’ll grow tired of other things and find a renewed interest in EQ2 and be back with us (either here or in next).
And speaking of other things, what have you been up to lately? Any other fun games have your current attention? Or are you putting some quality time into RL affairs?
It’s been entirely RL stuff. I’ve got a house now, plus two 4’x32′ garden beds, plus various other hobbies. So I’ve been pretty busy, and I am finding time away from the computer to result in an improvement in my overall health and well being. As for what I’m up to right now, I’m fiddling with EQ2U Forum Signatures and rewriting imagick code to imagemagick code. Good times. 😉
Sorry our plans didn’t pan out Feldon. I’ve been so amazingly busy with college and work. I had no idea it would be so time consuming when I started college.
