  1. H1Z1 Teaser Site (with Sound)

    DualShockers.com has this:

Today Sony Online Entertainment opened a new website for its unannounced project, apparently codenamed H1Z1. The website can be found here, and it shows just a rather eerie landscape for the moment.

Following Smedley’s previous hints, word on the street is that the title will be a post-apocalyptic survival horror sandbox MMORPG with plenty of zombies to slaughter. Smedley also went on record saying that those that loved the sandbox elements of the now defunct Star Wars Galaxies would appreciate the new game.

There’s still no word about the platforms, but if recent Sony Online Entertainment patterns are any indication it’ll probably head to PC first followed by PS4 after a while.

  2. Zombie!!! (I hate them btw)

I really would like to see MMO which would connect sci-fi and magic, something like Destiny and Mass Effect. This would be unique.
And what will players get? Another zombie survival game…

    1. Well I agree about the zombie survival game, I never got the point of zombie films never mind zombie games.
BUT mixing sci-fi and magic is a big no no for me, two different genres two different games.

Now what would be nice would be an updated Everquest game! (and I do not mean that “Everquest NOT!” BS announced last year)

You didn’t like Star Wars? Even if you add in the whole midi-chlorians thing, you have an entire group of people that can control minds, move objects telekinetically, shoot lightning, absorb lightning, jump extreme heights and distances, as well as having inhuman dexterity and coordination . . . How is that NOT magic?

And there’s the numerous role playing games, like Shadowrun, as well as MMORPGs like The Secret World, that incorporate magic and technology in a seamless environment. Heck, even EQ2 has “steampunk-like” gnomish technology that adds in “science” with magic.

Admittedly, you may like your worlds pure and never want your genres to mix, but I kinda like it . . . as long as it’s done well and balanced properly, having the mix of the two can be fun.

As far as zombies go . . .well . . . can’t I just be a zombie? THAT would be a cool MMO I’d want to play. There’s so many different books, movies, and shows that deal with how the zombie “evolves” I’d like a game that explores THAT.

        Maybe as the first expansion for H1Z1? (-;

  3. Do my eyes deceive, or is that an A1200 with an old 1084/1084S monitor in their banner. How about that?

Anyway, I’ve played games that aren’t in my normal interest range before, so I’m not gonna pass judgement yet 😉 Hmmm, does lend to the idea of a Fallout Online though….

  4. From http://www.polygon.com/2014/4/9/5598202/h1z1-zombie-mmo-sony-online-entertainment

H1Z1 is an MMO that allows players to take on the role of an apocalypse survivor who is in a world that is filled with zombies,” Smedley told Game talk Live. “A world! Not just a little tiny server

That’s the point,” Smedley said. “When you see a zombie coming up to you with nothing out but a highway flare. But here is something your gonna be able to do that you can’t do in these other games: Light things on fire. We are in the middle of putting that in so you are gonna be able to burn down trees, burn down stuff, and that’s gonna be a lot of fun. The idea is that these players [are] building these forts and all of the sudden these other guys coming in lighting it on fire and waiting till they come out of the fortress … is awesome.

Oh God yeah,” Smedley said when asked about day and night, “but in this game it matters a lot more than in others because it gets really dark at night and you need to have a torch and you will be ganked by other players, zombies. So we [have] vehicles in here. We can actually have aircraft if we want. Our goal is to build out this entire massive massive world that is this apocalypse of the United States.

    1. Non-sequitur there. While not having to pay anything (all access) removes the cost consideration it leaves all the other reasons for playing or not-playing a game still in play.
For example: genre, combat style, time, considerations of the likely level of ganking and griefing.
