Community Managers for EverQuest (Ry “Roshen” Schuller), EverQuest II (Margaret “Luperza” Krohn), and EverQuest Next & EQN Landmark (Colette “Dexella” Murphy) held a webcast on Twitch today to talk about the Year of EverQuest, including updates about the franchise, and with specific news about each game.
Wikia Launches EverQuest Portal
First up, Simon Cox, Director of Programming at Wikia was on the phone to announce a new feature from Wikia that ties all the EverQuest games together. Developed in partnership with SOE, the new site called EverQuest Portal is a cross-game metasite for the entire franchise. To promote this new feature, Wikia is holding a sweepstakes to give away 10 product keys to the EverQuest II: Tears of Veeshan expansion as well as Trailblazer (alpha/beta) keys to EQNext Landmark.
After the jump, read more notes from this livecast including EverQuest swag (not just at the SOE Live store!), EQ2 Livestreams, and a bullet-point News update…
EQ/EQ2/EQN/EQNL Memorabilia
Next up, Dexella talked up SOE’s partnership up with online gaming swag shop J!NX. Thus far, there’s a just a single item for sale: an EverQuest T-shirt, but hopefully this is just the beginning of an online store to sell EQ/EQ2/EQN/EQNL/PS2/DCUO/etc. branded items such as hoodies, shot glasses, notebooks, posters, pens, and other memorabilia and tchotchkes.
Omeed Dariani, EverQuest Franchise brand manager announced that we’ll see a whole line of products in the coming months. If players have ideas of items they would buy, they should send a tweet directed at Omeed. Luperza suggested a “Ask me about my Meatbeast” shirt where you pull it up and it has a meatbeast underneath.
Upcoming EverQuest II Livestreams
I’ve been remiss in posting about this, but EQ2’s new Community Manager Luperza has announced an ambitious program of social interaction and community involvement. Chief amongst these will be scheduled EQ2 Livestreams which she intends to host. Starting with player feedback right away, she has asked players to vote on a choice of 3 names for these livestreams — EQ2 Experience, EQ2 Live, and EQ2 Insider. You can vote on the name at Strawpoll. The voting has concluded and the winning name was EQ2 Insider.
