The two-day StationCash Instant Rebate event is now active, and over 1,000 items can now be purchased for half their normal price. Rebates are a marketing tactic intended to drive sales of StationCash, since players must typically purchase more to buy discounted items. If a mount is 1,950SC, then you’ll need the full amount to buy it, but you’ll immediately receive 975SC back. This rebate event runs all day December 31st and January 1st, ending at 11:59pm PST

EQ2U Marketplace FAQ
Q: How can I browse the EQ2 Marketplace outside of the game?
A: You may view the EQ2 StationCash Marketplace on EQ2U!
Q: Why don’t all the marketplace items have Preview images?
A: All of the preview screenshots were either taken by me, or tracked down in Google from old announcements on EverQuest2.com. If you’d like to help contribute screenshots, please let me know!
Q: Why are some items red with a green bug icon?
A: These are items which are missing from Census. A few may never be released to Census, like feature unlocks, as they are immediately applied to your account without an item appearing in your inventory.
Q: Why aren’t Services and Age of Discovery features on Rebate?
A: This is one of those unanswerable questions, along with…
- If number 2 pencils are the most popular, why are they still number 2?
- Why is there no other word for synonym?
- Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor but dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?
- Why do they put Braille on the drive-through bank ATMs?
- Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
Argh! The only one I’d like to take advantage of is the L85 or maybe the 280AA bauble – and they’re not on offer. You would think that, as they are pretty expensive, that the lure of getting them half price might encourage more spending on SC – but apparently not.
Oh well, I won’t buy any then.
Yay, 70 unattuners ftw =)
Completely pointless sale. I was really hoping ti would include frostfell, because now it’s going to eat up ALL of my station cash. Station cash is EXPENSIVE and for an item that is 2000sc, aka $20 real dollars, that’s no longer a MICRO transaction. I mean really the 2000sc items cost MORE than a monthly subscription! It’s ridiculous. This is why we NEED the double and triple sc weekends, to balance things out and make it worth buying sc without breaking the bank. But because EQNext is going to be a micro transaction run game, we will never ever see double or triple sc weekends again. So in lieu of this they REALLY need to reprice and lower the cost of markeplace items to rebalance things out. however, knowing SOE, I don’t see this happening, making sc a complete ripoff from now on.
I completely agree. I feel like it’s a vicious cycle that started with double and triple sales to begin with. It’s clear that the prices are to compensate for the currency being devalued and now that we’re starting to see the old SC cleared out, I think it’s time they rethought out the $20 mounts that only ONE character can use at a time.
But that won’t change until players stop buying them, so I can’t say I blame them if there’s plenty of people still shelling out that much. Just hope they aren’t sitting around scratching their heads wondering why no one is biting on these prices anymore and then blaming something other than themselves.
Agree, I am less and less impressed with SOE sales. Only a couple things I might want and they not on sale. So little of any good anymore.
Yep, I wanted services, like name change, race change, ect… but as they’re not offered, I won’t be taking advantage of this “sale”
I bought flying wings for my chars. I hate having to drop my mount at the bank or in town. This way I figure I can keep the mount up the whole time.
Also bought a stack of costumes, I love dressing up in EQ2 🙂
I too wanted character slots, so I could finally roll my baby channeler from the last expansion, now I’ll continue waiting and there’s no reason to buy any station cash.
I’m so disappointed soe. I would love that coal kitten/dog, the snowflake wings, and the shield from frostfell, but there really isn’t much of anything left that I want that is actually on sale. Without a double or triple station cash sale its the most underwhelming disappointing New Year’s sale we’ve had in the past 3 years…
Ah well *sigh*. I’ll just continue to wait for a character slot sale to come round again for my baby channeler ><
Glad to see I’m not the only one who wants more character slots! I got about 7-9 of them last time they went on Rebate! Probably more than I will ever really use…. But still. I tend to roll quite a few alts!
Update: XP Potions *ARE NOT* on rebate. Experience Debt Remover is, and Potion of Vitality is, but XP Boost potions are not on rebate.
(If they are, the icons on /marketplace do not indicate it)
Would be a nice addition to this (very nice, thank you) FAQ that items being gifted are eligible for rebate also, as long as they have a direct purchase rebate, of course. I mention this because it’s not immediately obvious if you try to gift that you’ll get a rebate, since you have to select an in-game-mail target for the gift before you’re presented with the purchase price. Not a big deal, but…
There’s a limit of 2 gifts given per account per day, and to clarify, it applies to the account doing the gifting, not the recipient (though for all I know, Sony in it’s infinite wisdom has applied a rule there, too.) If I’d have known that yesterday, I wouldn’t have put off doing my gifting ’til today.
Sorry, turns out the limit is actually 2 gifts per day.
The game is now back up; however, the rebate mechanism in game on Marketplace is not working.
I bought some stuff for my house, and some escape potions. All and all I was happy with what was offered and glad I could save some money on things I would have bought anyway.
