  1. Tables have been weighted to be more in line with raid and class distribution.

So they going to make more fighter gear drop now that raids will be filling up with them instead of rouges?

    (Sorry couldn’t resist Feld)

  2. I never agree with altering drop rates based on expected class distribution. Smart loot is fine, as are consumable patterns, but prescribing the “correct” class distribution for a given raid just seems wrong to me.

  3. I believe the change they were talking about with the loot tables was to bring it more in line with reality, not in line with a “correct” raid setup. For example, there are 7 types of gear now but preist plate which is only useful to 2/25ths of the classes shouldn’t drop 1/7th of the time.

  4. I’m still not sure why they uncrated the fighter and priest armor. While scouts and mages are at the disadvantage of having to compete with all other scouts/mages in the raid, healer loot is going to alts while healers in the raid still lack items in that slot… Personally I prefer the current mage/scout loot situation to the priest loot situation.

  5. @Mermut, it’s worse. Mages and healers are fighting over the same accessories. So are fighters and scouts. There are some exceptions to this where the stats are either bloody obvious or specifically limited, but it’s getting kinda silly.

If healer loot is going to alts while mains still need it, that’s a problem with how the raid force allocates loot, not the drop tables.

And none of this is helped by fiddling with armor drop rates.

They got lazy on itemization, and we’re paying for it.

  6. If all of the chain healers have the healer pants and another pair of shaman pants drop, it goes to alts, since the clerics and druids in the raid can’t use them. I agree with you about the jewelery, though, like the fighter/scout loot most pieces seem to be ‘aimed’ at one half or the other while still being useful to both.
