Problem is yeah.. thats a great letter and all but the truth is they are requirinf we pay for AOD that is paying for the expansion whatever and that my freind is NOT free… So No EQ is not Really truly free.. ITS A LIE

you can access the marketplace from the char select screen and right now its looking like DoV is 1500SC now, a small positive.
on a side note the old station launcher wasnt replaced by the new launcher for me but rather, when i click play for eq2 it launches the new launcher – which then launches the game lol. not a huge setback but i was hoping that it wouldnt completely replace the old launcher as i liked its layout as well as some of the features like displaying how long each game had left for subscription.

Well after all of the talk about making sure that none of your bought character slots will be lost – it appears that I am over the number of characters on my account by exactly the number of slots I’ve bought – according to the LOCKED status of the Butcherblock server. So, here’s hoping that once the server comes it will not have actually have lost any of my characters. But if it does … .
Oh Froak … there should be a new Icon on your desktop for the new launcher – looks just like the old one, well it did for me, and using that will start the new launcher directly.

Here’s what Brasse had to say, in her most recent post:

Things happen, of course, but I think the whole character slot issue blew up the entire bank of servers. They have no idea who has what right now. Please prove me wrong.

Well… duh? I could also say “duh” to the people surprised the game is still down too, but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you haven’t been a customer of SOE for very long. This is typical for them. I don’t know what all SJ and his team are responsible for, but I’m pretty sure some suits above him are the ones that wanted this all done at the same time (that’s what you get when you let bean counters run companies).
As usual, they put too much on their collective plate and now are having trouble finishing it all. ServER merges, servICE merges, forum merges, launching a new website, installing a new expan-… er, adventure pack. That all adds up to – piss poor planning. You don’t throw all that stuff up at the same time. Every item on that list has it’s own bag full of associated problems and headaches.

Hey Aethn…I would be more than happy with a couple days of double XP and bonus SC 🙂 I would honestly be surprised if anything account or SC related happened though due to the fact the account/billing system is liable to be screwed up for a long time. I could see the some double xp potions, etc going out though.
