Today’s update is all about taming the difficulty of Zek and other Velious group and raid zones (challenge and normal modes).
From the EQ2 Patch Notes:
POPULATION / ZONE PROGRESSION
Sullon’s Spire, Tallon’s Stronghold, and Vallon’s Tower x4 raid zones (NOT challenge mode)
- Several of the encounters in the zone have been made less powerful so that the challenge from these zones is more in line with the rewards. In particular boss npcs will tend to melee attack for less damage, and many of their aoe spells will also do less damage, as well as be more mitigateable.
Vallon’s Tower x4 raid zones
- Lichlord Skulldugger no longer has Greater Shadowed Fury buff.
Vallon’s Tower x4 raid zone (NOT challenge mode)
- Lichlord Skulldugger’s Tactical Immunity does not last as long, and has a better description attached to its examine icon.
Temple of Rallos Zek: Foundation of Stone [Challenge Mode]
- The Automaton’s Of Escalation that spawn during the statue of Rallos Zek fight have less health, and the march to war spell they pulse does less damage.
Drunder x4 raid zones
- NPC’s such as Mystikus Terrorwing in Tallons’ Stronghold raid and Lichlord Skulldugger in Vallon’s Tower Raid will now warn players after they dispel debuffs that they must recast their archetype specific raid debuffs before they regain their Unbridled Fury buffs, giving players a window of time to reapply the spell before the mob gets buffed again.

- Soren the Vindicator’s Onslaught is now a curable curse.
Kraytoc’s Fortress of Rime [Challenge]
- During the final Kraytoc fight, rime master assassins and rime shocktroopers should no longer have double crit bonus and crit avoidance packages.
very strange thing was we did not get an update yesterday. They never brought down the servers, and never applied a patch.
