Daily Fail: May 11th Not Today

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Uncategorized

From SOE Facebook:

All SOE games and sites are still offline as of May 11th and will not return today. Thank you again for your continued patience and support as we diligently work on these issues. More information on SOE’s “Make Good” plan to come!

UPDATE: All houses requiring rent will have one month added free to help offset any costs incurred during this outage.

UPDATE 2: Since a few folks seem unaware of this, SOE has already promised 30 days of free subscription plus 1 day for each day the servers are down. This was posted on SOE’s website on May 3rd.

“make good” or please please don’t quit, please? Either way, I expect they would not just try and get by without some sort of A$$ Kissing. $

I’m really starting to get concerned about what kind of game I will be coming back to. I’m in a raid progression guild on AB, but our leadership runs a pretty tight ship and we don’t have a lot of depth in our ranks. A lot of guilds are like this – and a few key people leaving could have ripples that last for a good long time. I can’t imagine being on a less populated server and what those guilds might be facing.

I would like to say, sincerely, thank you for the free rent. I was really sweating that .. what? 10 gold a week? I have no idea how much my house even costs, that is how little it impacts my game. Whoever came up with this as a part of the “make good” obviously doesn’t even play their own game.

How bout a simple “We are no where close” or “We are 50% complete with the upgrades” you know…..anything would be better than this cookie cutter response every day that yields zero information or idea as to when to expect being able to play again, or if the servers will ever be up again. Im mean really at least their “FREE” PSN service is getting better updates than this crap!

They updated their message a bit. They added this sentence:

All houses requiring rent will have one month added free to help offset any costs incurred during this outage.

Hmm I think I just paid my houses up to max. Hope that was only a side note of the plan.

30 days of free house rent??? Better be more like 30 days of free game time. Either way, 30 days of free housing is not going to make up for the huge middle finger flip off SOE has given the players over this situation. You want to keep customers, keep them INFORMED. At least give us a time frame. It does not have to be a firm date, just an estimate. Sony is casting SOE out like a red-headed stepchild. At this rate they will be lucky to recoup 75% of players.

This ‘Make Good’ plan better be something substational… maybe 100 Station Cash per account for every day offline? =)

Sony’s “make good” plan better be as good as the PSN goodies, I know I have spent a heck of a lot more on Everquest 2 than I have with my PS3.

Quad exp month, free SC, free 90s, free coupon for the next expansion, it honestly better be a lot to entice people to come back because a lot of people have lost faith in SOE.

30 days free rent on personal house is nothing, Guild halls would be nice to include even though I don’t on one. 30 days of game time nothing.

So far all I see is cheep out for us. The PSN guys are getting free games and stuff, so they better really come up with something nice.

Maybe some added vet days, station cash means nothing to me I don’t use it. Possibly give me 30 days to all the soe games that I used to have.

I don’t know what they are going to do but so far I am no impressed.

All I can say is it better be good, after 9 days most folks I know are trying other stuff, and your going to have to lure them back with something sweet.

I think free time has to be a given,to go back on what they announced would given these circumstances be bad for them, but what else can they give us,lets be fair the pSN are talking free PS3 games so you would assume that SOE would have to give something as meaty if only to tempt people to stay or else come back.

So I wonder if this means that they won’t tap my account like they have already done while everything is down…. :\ I would imagine that they will still try… I wonder if they will let my account ride for 30+ days after they figure out I had to cancel that card to protect myself from the mess they created by ignoring what needed to be done? /sigh

Seriously I do not know who Sony thinks they are kidding. I have been checking their “update” site every day since May 2nd, and this obviously edited announcement did not appear on May 3rd. No one had heard anything about a make it good policy until the past few days. So forgive me Feldon, this information was not made public on May 3rd. TBH it does not matter when the information was released, it is more a matter that Sony is recognizing that customers are fed up and tired of being treated with disrespect. If you want to redirect folks to the information, do it without insulting player intelligence. Thanks.

    Morgueana,

The SOE website had this information on May 3rd:

SOE will grant customers 30 days of additional time on their subscriptions, in addition to compensating them one day for each day the system is down. It is also in the process of outlining a “make good” plan for its PlayStation®3 MMOs (DC Universe Online and Free Realms). More information will be released this week.

You can verify this in the Google Archive from May 3rd, 2011.
