SOE have brought back their StationCash Discount program ‘Super Fan’ again, this time offering 25% off and 35% large denominations, as well as special items each day for SOE’s major games. Remember, StationCash can be used for character slots (normally $10 to buy a lifetime character slot), character transfers, and other items. And in time for Frostfell, StationCash items can now be gifted to other players.

Don’t miss out on the special deals available this week only, during Super Fan Holidays!
SOE Super Fan Holiday offerings are of little use if the SL system and the EQII in-game purchasing windows won’t allow you to add SC funds to your virtual wallet. I attempted to purchase SC dollars since SOE was offering SC at a special price, only to be informed by the browser window that I have reached the maximum SC I am able to purchase. WTF! How can they put a limit on how much you can purchase? Who sets these limits, and why am I only now hearing of them. Anyone else out there with a gold membership been having this problem? Heck of a way to kick off the Holidays, SOE. Here’s hoping you all get a large lump of coal in your stockings.
did you upgrade from Free To Play? there may be a limit to the free accounts that doesn’t get corrected when going Gold.
I’d wager your error message was probably some code on their part that limits purchases in case the credit card is stolen.
I’m not sure how much you tried to purchase, but given SOE’s track record I could see this code bugged and not letting you purchase any.
After a week of frustrating effort and online chat’s with tech support, not to mention more than a few emails from tech support, I’ve learned:
1> SC is limited to 20,000 for each player.
2> SC can be purchased in increments of 15,000 per day, not to exceed the max.
So at this point, I am bound to forge ahead and thereby put this incident in my virtual tail-lights. EQII remains the best MMO I’ve ever had the pleasure to play, and I eagerly look forward to improving the lot of all of my online personalities (alts) and I look forward to the next big game update in February.
I’ll be checking back here at the “Wire” to hopefully read future update notes about the next big expansion coming in 2011.
Thanks again to all that commented, and thanks to the great hard working soul that manages the “Wire.”
