The information in this article comes from Massively.com, the official Landmark/Walmart press release, the Landmark/Walmart SC redemption page, and the Landmark/GameStop SC Redemption page.
I attended the E-Commerce panel where Mark Tuttle discussed this and other things related to SC. He said that right now there is a glut of SC that they think needs to be used up so until that glut is reduced, it is very unlikely that more x2 and x3 events would take place.
Rather, they’re looking at adding value to future cards in ways similar to these promotional cards. Rather than add more SC to the cards, they want to bundle items with the cards. The Landmark cards are a starting point. I asked him during the panel whether we could get bundled cards like the loot cards that we got for attending the convention and he said that kind of card is the kind of card they’d like to put together for these kinds of promotions. So, don’t be surprised if you see a combo card with in-game items for multiple games at some point in the future.
I have a glut of SC 🙂
I have $105 in face value waiting to be redeemed. I don’t even know why I have it, I have nearly 10,000 sc on my account that I rarely use – and it’s just getting higher and higher as I get the 500 monthly.
