Marketplace: House Item Price Cuts, New Hua Mein Refuge, Some Cloaks and Replicas Going Away

Written by Feldon on . Posted in Daybreak Cash

These updates are all Marketplace-related. First up, a number of House Items are being reduced in price. From Ahma on the EQ2 Forums:

Greetings Norrathians!

While making changes to housing for Game Update 66: Scars of the Awakened, we decided it was time to make some changes to housing items on the Marketplace, too. As a result, you’ll find that many items in the Housing category have gotten some hefty price cuts. This includes:

  • Building Blocks: Individual tiles and blocks now cost 10SC instead of 50SC
  • Building Blocks: Sets of 10 tiles and sets of 10 blocks now cost 80SC instead of 250SC
  • Many items in the Furniture category now cost 50% less
  • Significant price reductions on many House Pets and House Plushies
  • Items in Windows & Curtains are 50% off or more

We’ve also done some category changes to keep things neat and tidy. Some items have moved around but nothing has been removed this week.

  • Decorations is now its own category—it used to be a subcategory of Furnishings. If an item you’re looking for is no longer in the Furnishings category, it may be in Decorations.
  • Plants are now in a subcategory of Decorations.
  • Furnishings now has subcategories for beds, chairs, and tables.

We hope that these changes make it easier to use the Marketplace, and that you, the decorators, continue to amaze us with your creativity and dedication.

Secondly, Dexella has posted news that a number of cloaks and Character replicas are going on Sale through Sunday April 14th and will be going on hiatus (in the Vault of Serilius) for an indefinite period:

On Monday, April 15, 2013, a number of cloaks and character replicas are going to be locked into the Vault of Serilis. This weekend is your chance to get your hands on these items – and at a discount!

From 12:00 pm (Noon) PDT on Friday, April 12, through 11:59 pm PDT on Sunday, April 14, the following items will be marked 50% off!

Hurry in and get yours now, because once the sale ends, they’ll be gone from the Marketplace!

and finally, my favorite news is that we now have a second “blank slate” house layout, namely the Hua Mein Retreat. It consists of all of the major parts of the island including the Cave which should make a popular hideout. From Dexella:

After marching across Cobalt Scar and facing fierce foes in the depths of Sirens Grotto, you may be looking for a quiet place to go and collect your thoughts before embarking on another adventure. Perhaps you will find your center and personal Zen in the new Hua Mein Retreat Prestige Home, where you can swim in the river, lounge in the lush green open spaces, and build a quiet refuge in the cave.

Looking to complete your new home? This week, Hua Mein furniture bundles are also being introduced in the Marketplace. Marvel at your daily catch in the Hua Mein Fish Basket or peacefully meditate aside the Hua Mein Totem and Hua Mein Incense. These items (and many more!) are available now.

When you’re visiting the Marketplace, make sure you also visit the Sale Category for great finds at discounted prices!

While the marketplace may not appeal to some, it’s obviously wildly popular and makes SOE money which they are able to pump out free game updates. If some random_01 wants to spend money on items for their housing, or mounts, or anything, and it gives me free content, I, for one, don’t see that being a negative.

most of the bamboo furniture is available (or at least extremely similar to) items you can get in game with faction of the Hua Mein in Stonebrunt. (It’s a small island near the gruengach.)

1600 SC for an unattuner. Still pretty cheap if you get double sc.

Ya, but the complainers gotta complain. Real Life has boring aspects. You gonna complain to the Producer/Developer about that…constantly?

The goblin gold instance is quick and easy if you just do the Statue Streak and ignore the rest.

I think you’re missing Feldon’s point – it’s a silly hoop to have to jump through to get the item. Just make it for SC as well instead of goblin gold only. You know, like every other Goblin Game prize.

I myself fail to see how ‘quick and easy’ doesn’t also apply to the bug-feeding and match-the-doodad games. Sure they’re not AS quick, but they are in no way hard.
