Is that definately the BST/CET update time? Is that normal?

Can’t find any offical information, Piestro doesn’t even know.

So Piestro, asked about EU servers, answers:

Unfortunately I am tracking that information down still, I’d assume it would follow a normal offset however. I’ll post that as soon as I get the info.

    My answer was the following

Don’t bother, it’s always the same:

    • EU servers go down at the same time as US
    • 5h laters, US servers go up
    • 2 hours later, we get a message saying “sorry, there may be a delay, I’m going to check”
    • 1h later, another message saying “it’ll be in an hour or so” (so around midnight EU time)
    • between 2 hours and 2 days later (or one week at the worst), the servers come back up

In between, what happened is the following:

    • The hamsters feeding the typewriter are underfed and die from exhaustion
    • some time later the typed datas are put on a boat called Titanic to cross the Atlantic
    • somewhere in the middle of the see, the boat sinks and submarines are sent to recover the data
    • the datas arrives at Amsterdam and have to be typed back there!
    • then, the datas are translated from english to english so UK players can understand them (meanwile French and German translations are borked/badly outdated/replaced by XXX as usual)
    • everybody goes to sleep
    • somebody wakes up and realise the EU servers have been forgotten
    • He feeds the hamster and Lo and Behold ! Servers come back up!

Hum… So, this huge sarcasm (that everybody on French server 100% believes in by now) to tell you something: PLEASE ! START TO SEND THE DATA TO AMSTERDAM BEFORE YOU BRING DOWN THE SERVERS !

Server status has been borked for a week now. Splitpaw is up atm, with no sign of Skyshrine so far.
Getting the GU ahead of US servers seemed pretty unlikely to begin with anyway!

I’m sure Piestro misunderstood. Somebody may have told him “5AM as usual” and he went with 5AM London time the 17th instead of either 5AM PST or 5AM London Time the 18th.

Splitpaw is still up, so no, they are not getting GU63 eight hours ahead of the US. Although considering how Splitpaw and other international servers have been treated over the years, that wouldn’t be a bad thing. 😉

As usual, someone at SOE is obviously unable to calculate the time difference properly. US servers will go down at 7 AM Pacific, which is 10 Eastern and EU server will be at the same time which is 3 PM London time.

The above information on the hamsters is really appreciated as I was unaware of the problem with the hamsters. Perhaps we could take up a collection for one of those automatic feeders so that no one at SOE will have to remember what time to feed the hamsters and solve the whole problem. WAIT…..No, it’s SOE, which means they’ll forget to put the food in the feeder once a month or forget to plug it in, or forget to set the timer. Sorry folks, I see no solution in sight.

I’m a little bit worried: Still no announce for Non-US, non-UK international servers downtime. I know they said that every server will get gu63 at the same time, but since no one bother to post anything concerning this GU on, by example, French forum I’m expecting the worse…

Its past 1pm and still no patch, guessing that they’ll wait until prime time.

@Whilhelmina Loved the Titanic bit 😉 I have visions of someone sitting in the Amsterdam data centre typing in the soggy update pages.

I hope we get a dose of AoD fixes unless they are going to contiue to ignore the zone ld’s, application memory errors, etc that came in with their expac that wasnt.

I assumed it, and i get it. Like always EU Customers are handled like a not appreciated userbase. Server are Still up, no comment from SoE no Official Announce. Who cares about Europe? Soon Europe is Pro7Sat1 problem…… Im sure thats SoEs thinking.

Yea, they actually could’ve scraped up some confidence to things if they actually had given it first to euro after the mess they had to take.

But well maybe they really don’t care much about whatever population they have left on those servers (heard loads of ppl have moved off them lately).

You would have thought, given the level of irritation the Euro customers already have, that they would have gone *out of their way* to give at least ACCURATE information.

Not only do we get bad news, but wrong info, and no corrections. Lame.

Don’t tell me there are OTHER EU servers? I thought it was a myth.

So roughly 3hours of patch for US, how long for EU? 6+3 should make 9AM CET. let me compute the time to feed the hamsters, retrieve datas from sunken Titanic… Bess estimate for me is 8PM CET April 19th 2013!
