From EQ2 ZAM – EQII Players Rally around Terminal Child:
On the official EverQuest II Forums a player posted a sad plea:
My 6 yr old son has cancer and was recently given 6 – 12 weeks to live.
He has a frog that he likes to run around Tenebrous Tangle Island on; however, it is sparse and he has requested to add trees, fences, stairs, animals and all kinds of other items to make his island fun and exciting.
Are there any decorators out there that would be willing to assist in adding these items (and any others their imagination poses) to help me make the island even more fun for him. I don’t know how much I’ll be able to accomplish on my own while still providing him quality time to enjoy it.
The EQ2 community has rallied around Ribbitribbitt. A guild has been created and players of all types are grinding status to get him a Tier 3 guild hall by Saturday. Players have donated decorations and even status houses to give him his choice of playgrounds.
Many members of different large guilds on Guk have begun to form a community event this Saturday at 1pm PST on Mara Island. With the thoughtfulness of Zam and what looks to be the inclusion of EQ2 community team it should be a great thing for this family!
Hellzelves tells us “On Saturday we will get together to decorate everything and finish up the crafting at 4 eastern/1 pacific. End game raiders will be taking all comers for duelbets for the cause.”

Why Wasn’t This Posted Sooner?
I have received several e-mails and messages from people asking why I have not posted this news sooner. The reason is simple. I’m afraid of the vile, cruel, and heartless comments people would post. I have been very accepting of people’s points of view in Comments, and the end result has been really one step above EQ2Flames level.
So I hoped that people would find out through the Homeshow Channel, the EQ2 Forums, Zam, etc. But I’ve decided to go ahead and post it.
If you want to use this article as your playground for disgusting comments, you may find yourself getting a vacation for a while.
This is such a unique and touching event, and I hope that many more people take part.
Such a heart-breaking event. And another proof of the familly-like bonds of the EQ2 community. I’ll create a toon on Guk to do my share.
Just been over there on Guk for an hour taking a million screenshots. Big turnout. The work everyone’s done on the island is wonderful. Huge firework display in Mara when Ribbit arrived. Still going on – not to late to join in.
Hubby is there so I’m looking above his shoulder. This is an impressive community reaction and show of support. Bringing some joy to this child and his family is really really great and generous.
A profoundly moving experience, so glad I rolled a character on Guk and was there to witness the EQ2 community doing what it does best – pulling together in support of a deserving cause. Congratulations to all those who did so much of the hard graft beforehand, and all the very best to Ribbit and his family.
From time to time, like many folks no doubt, I get a little down on humanity, especially when you see the daily news. However, tonight was one of those rare magical displays of unison, and I was very proud to be an EQ2 player. Deeply moving.
Everyone who contributed, donated, decorated, or turned up to show their love and support, you rock! Wishing our froggie friend and his loved ones all the very best and hope he has a wonderful time playing in the houses and Guild Hall, I know I did!
I know a few players on AB who payed for server transfers to go help out with this, and plan to return to AB after. Great to see the community stepping up to do soemthing like this. I just wish it wasn’t under such circumstances.
Trully amazing everyone concerned should be proud of themselves for doing this, the cynics may scoff at it but i say it was a wonderful reflection of the best MMO community out there
Stuff like reminds why I love this game…not the shiney baubles but the genuinely nice and caring folks……God bless this family and their dear child….
So sorry I don’t play eq2 anymore. But seeing this reminds me why I did. EQ2 players I salute you.
God bless you Ribbitribbitt, and your family.
Sitting here crying like a little girl…
This is one case, Feldon, where i would hope no-one would be that classless. If they were, I’d post it on 4chan, Reddit, anyplace else I could think of.
I was prioud of all of you and so happy to see that we could do something … anything to make this childs day a happy one. he deserves it. All my best, my love, my thoughts, and my prayers are with you my friend.
Well done everyone that took part, only just read about it myself.
It was a great event, and in case the parents read this: dont lose hope because the doctors say so…
Just take a look at this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1383240/Boy-brain-cancer-cured-secretly-fed-medical-marijuana-father.html

Eq2wire is not a political platform. I would have reviewed any post on the senseless ‘war on drugs’, the current presidential election, etc.
Eq2wire is not a political platform. Frankly, I did not want a political debate about the senseless ‘war on drugs’ to break out in a thread about helping a cool kid.
