  1. When you’re trying to log in with your EU chars do you have the right region selected? Don’t have any EU chars but when I have US region selected it still shows my characters on test.

  2. Yes, I switched region versions before checking. It’s so quick to do that now, literally a second or two compared to re-installing the whole game under the old launcher!

  3. @Nyna
They abandoned flash for version 4. They used it in 3, but flash tends to have memory leaks and lags in most cases because adobe hasn’t fixed the holes in their code in a long time. For version 4 I don’t know what they switched to, but it’s less laggy at least, but that’s only a slight improvement. We still got some people saying it don’t launch. I never had a problem launching the game personally, but if i did, my solution would be to have 2 shortcuts. 1 to the launcher, and 1 for everquest2.exe, so I can update the game with the first one, and launch it with the other. lol

  4. They’ve fixed the problem with non-US servers, and the character select version now works on those servers.

At present you see all your characters across all versions of the game, and if you inadvertently select a character on say a EU server while the launcher is set for the US version (which is easily done with duplicated names) it results in a “world cannot be found” error. SOE are looking at amending it on the next release so it only shows the characters available on the version you are running.

  5. Thanks for the GDC link.

The Planetside2 guy doesn’t even smile … he looks like he should be in an action flick.

It is a little unsettling that the last five games Holly worked on were all games involving teenage girls … Hannah Montana being the last.

If anyone ever gets the chance to go to GDC, do it. Best time ever. I think they have gotten a lot more strict on who can go now, though. Too bad.
