looks to me like they’re trying to appease players now with these SC events… but who’s gonna buy SC when you dont even know if you end up with Alaplaya – at least when you play on EU servers…

US players probably dont need to care, but 20-40% that below even double sc. not interested.

right, let’s sell some more SC to our European friends, before they need to register at P7S1. Squeeze the last out of them. 🙂

    great business idea

After Triple SC, Less-Than-One-And-A-Half SC is kind of a joke.

I just love how SOE sells SC as some kind of currency to buy their products, but when it comes to pre-orders suddenly their SC isn’t worth anything.
So they’re forcing people with some SC left to spend some “real $$$” again.

This behaviour is of course not reserved to SOE. Turbine does that too.

This sale reminds of Turbine’s garbage sales.

Interestingly, SOE may finally have discovered their niche market after all. The people that remain over there are so blinded by Piestro’s and SJ’s ingeniously clever spin *cough*, and are such dedicated EQ2-a-holics, that nothing seems to shake their faith. There are still, amazingly, even a handful of vocal fanbois creeping up out of woodwork from this crumbled house. They must be overjoyed that EQ2 cares so much about them with the increased frequency of SC sales. Its backwards thinking that SOE is rewarding their remaining customer’s loyalty by creating deals for them to spend even more money.

But, like I said, they seem to have found their dedicated, adoring customer base now.

Yeah, lame sale. It’s almost like they’ve stopped trying.

I suppose thsi really says that they do not think the unrest from the PS1 deal is very big. Perhaps they haven’t seen much impact from it other than a post and a LOT of replies.

Anyone get the feeling their having trouble making payroll or something this month?

Lots of ‘hey, we need your cash today’ kind of events.

@atan I think your correct. We had several sc sales back to back, and the desperation move to get into bed with the PS1 folks, you have to ask yourself how bad off is the soe division on the books. Everything they done the past month speaks to have revenue problems.

Looks like “SmokeJumper” and Domino “Jumped” just in time, cancelled subscription last fall, have no real desire to come back at this point unless something drastically changes or I give in and decide to raid with my better half, still pondering that one…

SoE giving double and triple SC royally screwed themselves in the long term. This sale is what should be the norm for them. Not many people will even waste their time with anything besides double SC, and for myself, I won’t purchase anything besides triple SC now. Paid $45 during a triple SC even (walmart cards as well) and still have 90k SC. I have a feeling I won’t be using much of it until planetside 2 and eq next.

@Kralus you said I have a feeling I won’t be using much of it until planetside 2 and eq next. But I have a feeling that SC won’t be transferable to Planetside 2 and EQNext… it’ll have a different currency for both to wring more $ out of people.

If you did anything outside of purchase gamecards to use to keep your subscription gold then you are only contributing to the problem. If anyone is the least bit bothered by the recent actions and they are buying any kind of fluff whatsoever from the SC shop they are doing the equivalent of rewarding a child for bad behavior just because they say ‘sorry’.

yep, I would not be extended any subscriptions with Station Cash or real cash at the moment. Keep it month to month, at the outside till the end of June. They just might be on the edge financially.
