Glad I waited on getting AoD since this way I can pick it up for $15 instead of $40. And still have 2k SC left over!

I knew if I bought it this would happen … but I bought it anyway.

They really should have done it with an apology for all the issues that have occurred with accounts (and other bugs), but I suppose they are all out of apologies now.

    Regardless, it’s a great deal.

I’ve been dumping my money into SOE cards waiting patiently for this day. 🙂 Oh Joy. And thanks Kwill, its because of early adopters with good attitudes like yours, that keep the game moving forward!

I believe, sir, you have mistaken me for someone with a good attitude.

My account is still a complete wreck and got knocked back to silver today, with no access to AoD, so I can’t use it anyway.

And believe me, four times on the phone with customer service telling me they are working as hard as they can, that the supervisor won’t get on the phone with me because there’s nothing to say, and no ETA on when my account will become un-bugged is not making me a happy customer. Apparently they have absolutely no control over any problem that is harder than a five minute fix.

So, I’ve been away from EQ2 for over a year now. Been following this F2P news peripherally. But today I see this triple cash thing so I got more intrigued and got a 1500 card from Walmart.

Came home and started downloading the new patcher and updates. Had to reset my password and do all that nonsense from the hacking fiasco earlier this year. Hadn’t logged into game as I’m still halfway done downloading. But I do go to the website to enter my SC number. I had 23k SC still left over from when I quit so was expecting another 4500 added to it. (I know above Feldon said it would be 6k for a Walmart card but this is SOE so I was just going to be happy with 4500.)

I put the code in, it is accepted and the webpage opens a new window. Not only do I *NOT* have even 4500 added to my SC funds but instead I’m told, “Welcome to EQ2 with your GOLD membership”. Seriously SOE, wtf. I’ve been gone over a year and you still frustrate me with these ridiculous shenanigans and the inability of something as simple as adding SC to turn into a cluster****.

Sigh, all I wanted was an extra 4500 SC, check out my account while logged in as a silver member to make sure my 12 toons are still there grandfathered in since none of my race/class combos were free. Then and ONLY then if I were satisified and enticed enough, I would have bought the new expansion with those new funds and become a gold member as well. Now I gotta contact your CS and go thru that major annoyance and see what happened because at no time while I was adding my SC number did I remotely think I was going to be subscribed as soon as I hit the “GO” key. Why even bother with this really. WTF indeed.

As cliche as is touche, its warranted, you got me there.

Why are not all Walmarts Stocked with 1500 SC cards. I went to 4 today, that only had 1000 Free Realms cards, and had to call 300 Miles away to a friend, who happens to live near a Walmart with over 75 Cards on the shelf.

    What gives?!

I tried buying station cash . . . said my card was declined. Had to call my credit card company, they say everything is approved on their side. They don’t see what the problem is, they’ve approved the transaction, the problem must be on the merchant’s side. Of course, Sony’s customer service is not open on Saturday for me to even fix this . . . Do I get a rain check then?

2 weeks ago I ran our local Walmart out of Station Cash cards. Went today and they are still out of them. When questioned, the employees claimed it’s not their fault. It’s not up to them to reorder the cards. Sony reps are supposed to come around and restock when the cards are low. If thats the case, Sony isn’t doing its job (no surprise there though) We have 2 other Walmarts in the area. Was able to get the last 3 cards from one of them; the other was sold out also but they had 9 Free Realms 1,000 point cards which offer no bonus points.

Charn and Snowdarc, It sounds like the same problem I had a few weeks ago with SOE and my bank. SOE is sending a zero charge to your card, some banks will not allow a zero charge. The bank may be approving a transaction from SOE, but they’re expecting a charge, not a zero charge. A zero charge gets denied straight away, doesn’t matter who it’s from. SOE will not alter how they approve cards. The bank will not alter how they accept charges. So you’re pretty much screwed, as I was. I got around it by getting a Paypal Mastercard that is tied to my bank account.

I forgot about this — it happened to me too when I bought station cash some time ago — except Citibank called the zero dollar charge a fraud alert, and put a hold on my card until I told them it was ok! I didn’t realize this was standard practice until I just read your post, marilla. So be careful, banks truly don’t like this zero dollar nonsense.

As for Walmart SC cards, they don’t have them at all in my area at any of the three loations here. They have the Free Eealms cards at my CVS and Walgreens, which don’t give the extra bonus as mentioned here.

Make sure you look in electronics for the SC cards at Walmart. My Walmart will not put them up front with the others. They stay in the back of the store.

One year will be a bit more than 11988SC. 1499*12=17988.

1 year paid in advance has always been $9.99 a month.

Actually, about being “Declined.” My CC company had the exact dollar amount for the charge I made. They said it was approved for the exact amount and it was definitely NOT $0.00 dollars. I know these charges are just “holds” right now, but I’m gonna have to get on the horn with Sony about the problem (which my CC Co. says is not on their end) and find out why Sony is saying it’s declined and if they’ll do anything about it.

I’ve been playing for 14 months on the EQ2 extended server. 12 months ago I spent 1000 sc to upgrade to silver. This was the first time I went out of my way to find a SC card at a store because I wanted the triple points.

Everything went great and I can’t wait to get a cool mount or some appearance armor for my characters.

Another tip for EQ2 players. I went into my /LON legends of norath game last week and found a special card that unlocked a new character slot for me. So now I have 5 instead of 4. Sweet! I don’t know if it was luck or if it was put there after the new FTP upgrade fiasco for everyone.
