A whole day in beta..i’m speechless but i can see a trouble free launch coming,no i really can they may surprise us

I was wondering why when i logged in that i was not forced to the new launcher. Wow 1 day in beta who gets to beta that?

I can only hope you are right Skippy. Anyone know how to lauch Vanguard and EQ1 now the all in one launcher is defunct? How do we re subscribe to them and the other games now?? Are we to run them via the .exe files?? No-one seems to have answered this question. One more question- can I put a boss in my own dingeon called “Fumes leaping” in my own dungeon and kill it every day just for laughs??

I’m assuming that the beta is 1 day because they don’t believe there are any issues, but if there happen to be issues, they will delay the release of the launcher.

I’m assuming you will still be able to launch the game with EverQuest2.exe. So at least if there are problems there will be a way to get into the game… Until the next patch anyway 😉

I read the takeback article, but wanted some clarification.
I’ve got a friend in my guild (Guk, Live Server) who bought Sentinel’s Fate, but not Velious.
He pre-ordered Age of Discovery, will he get Velious with that? Or does that have to be bought separately?

you will still be able to launch the game from the .exe but you will l need to run the new launcher to get your patches and updates.
Funny thing is that as of this afternoon, the new launcher wasnt on beta either. Might be by now, I haven’t checked again yet.

At the risk of breaking NDA, I’ll just say it’s good that it spent a few hours on Beta. Kudos to the testers! Otherwise, today would have been calamitous.

@VGUK nope Velious and AoD are seperate animals completely.. tell him to buy Velious and wait on AoD unless theres some things in AoD he will find useful

I have the new launcher now and well it launched the game, so now I got the game up and the launcher up is that normal for the new launcher?

One thing the FAQ glosses over is that if you have the old launcher off of the original cds (eq2.exe) you will need to update manually. Check this thread out for more info:

I dont know if it is or not, but I have the same thing. I think it ‘might’ be because this launcher lets you switch accounts from it (those who run dual accounts, are most likely the only ones who will like the launcher staying up).

Extended gets to keep using (or perhaps “is stuck with”) the old launcher until the reintegration happens next week. Whee (or not).

The delivery of the new launcher marks a new low point for SoE.
New launcher where? Oh there!
Does not need Flash. But it just installed Flash prior to installing itself?
But it does not need it, you can uninstall Flash now that it has finished, and if you do it will impose less system load!
“Mandatory Patch”!. Well not actually but it will be come launch of Age of Discovery.
Confusion, misinformation, miscommunication, broken links hidden downloads.
What a stuff up!

Yea that bs it dont need flash, I killed the launcher as it was being a resource hog to the took of 300k due to the flash that continued running. Im still in game without it running. Just another clue that the sj has no clue what his products and his devs are really doing. I hate to call SJ a liar,so I will just say he misunderstood what the devs said I hope.
