  • You will no longer lose infamy (a PvP stat) when joining a dungeon finder group.
  • The dungeon Cauldron Hollow should now be listed as a 30-40 dungeon instead of 30-45.

I was just thinking to myself that what this game needs is more downtime.

The change to the quest guys is a great one, however, and I look forward to seeing that implemented, as right now I use DF as a great travel tool for my groups, then have to go out, disband to fix the stupid loot rules that you can’t undo in the dungeon, re-group, pick up quests, and go back in.

Seems that with this new dungeon finder they need to put the quest givers in the dungeon entrance would be a simple solution, not to mention convenient to people who get to play short periods of time during the week, would cut out alot of unnecessary running around gathering quests, they could actually get to group for those couple of hours and do something productive.

Grouping seems to be the biggest Pain in the Arse Simply because everyone is to lazy to use the LFG tool that is built into the game, they would rather SPAM Chat Channels. I think im going to make a toon named MoreDowntime.

      Already on Test.

As for the built-in LFG tool. It doesn’t list alts. Dungeon Finder has the same flaw. I’m rarely logged into the toon needed for certain groups that form, so any Dungeon Finder of Group Builder needs to support Alts, Whitelists, and Blacklists to be truly successful.

So I logged on my level 20 toon, hoping to get some easy dungeon groups going and alas nothing. It doesn’t help that it is not cross server and I think the part that really stinks is it isn’t a dungeon finder. It’s an INSTANCE finder. No Stormhold, Karnors’ Castle or any other contested dungeon will be able to use this tool and will be stuck once again posting in chat for people to come.

Whitelists and blacklists sound reasonable, but do you know if your friends and ignore list are already on the server? If so, then it should be trivial for them to put together….otherwise, not something easily managed client side.

I THINK it’s server side, but not sure. *shrug*

It’ll be useful for groups. You form your group FIRST, then use dungeon finder to pop around to the different zones quickly. So…not really using it to make groups…but using it to run multiple zones quickly.

The dungeon finder sucks tbh. It has half-assed features of finding a group, same as the LFG tool. What they need to do is combine the two tools so that you can stop getting into groups with 4 mages and 2 scouts. This isnt Rift afterall!

Dungeon Finder does not function well in late hours of the night.

If you want to get the best use out of it, do it during peak hours for zones that don’t require 6 solid players/toons.

Everything else which requires any forethought about group setup, excluding poor players, is EASIER doing it yourself, then hoping DF randomly sets you up.
