Interim EQ2 Community Manager Isulith Gets Ready For Her Closeup
On Friday, September 16th, Jennifer “Isulith” Bridges, interim EQ2 Community Manager while Amnerys is on leave, will be hosting a Meet and Greet on the Test Copy and Freeport (EQ2X) servers at 4-5pm PDT and 5-6pm PDT respectively.
We’re anxious to see what mark she’ll leave on the EQ2 community during her tenure. The natives have been getting restless, and forum trolls seem to have gained a foothold. I’m personally hoping more for “Stand and Deliver” or “The Substitute” and less “Kindergarten Cop“!

Hail and well met fellow adventurers,
My name is Isulith and I am the newest EverQuest II Community Relations Manager. I would like to formally invite you all to a little get together on both the Test Copy and Freeport servers. The event will be held on Friday, September 16, 2011 in the Community Lounge. For easy access, portals will be placed by the docks in Qeynos and Freeport. Come join me between 4:00-5:00 PM PDT on Test and 5:00-6:00 PM PDT on Freeport. There will be free drinks and munchies!

Does she mean test or test copy? Usually it’s been on the test copy server where things like this have happened, so at least people can go as themselves by copying their character over. Hope she means that server.

Thank you for catching this! Test Copy is correct. The article has been updated. I’m still working on learning the ropes 😉 As for why this particular event isn’t on live servers isn’t because we hate you or anything, but a lack of time for one single person to run the event on every server. We are planning on running some future events on all live servers but those will take some more time to set up.

Looks like she’s just gonna step in after 6 months of slack rule enforcement and start kicking people’s shins.

I can’t comment on Gaige’s original post. I didn’t read it. I did read the post above for which he provided a screenshot. I don’t find anything particularly objectionable about it. Isulith pointing people to a link to the Forum Rules from two Community Managers ago and saying “This is the list of rules I’m enforcing” is problematic. For one thing, most of those rules were written during Grimwell and Gnobrin’s regrettable tenure.
I have concerns that we might be reverting to a style of draconian moderation where the only posts which are allowed are ones that glorify SOE. That’s not the type of forum I would spend any time on.
By the way, if you want to read an EXCELLENT example of the reinforcement of forum rules by a community which is currently paralysed by trolling, look no further than this statement by Ars Technica:

She can have all the balls she wants, she is still f*cking up. She will ruin the official forums AGAIN and it’ll take months for Amnerys to get them back to normal – just like what happened from Grimwell to Kiara.
She has no experience in this type of job and its very evident, and your implication that my first post was out of line is silly – it was like the one I screenshotted and posted here. I just didn’t think to printscreen it because I had no idea it’d be deleted for being too mean.
