Pure Primal Velium Shards Come to x2 Raids
Gninja provided some great news on Friday for players carrying unadorned gear from Velious’ two x2 raid zones (Tower of Frozen Shadow and Tower of Vuul):
The X2 zones drop items with red adornment slots, so those are the shards that will start dropping once my change makes it to the current build.
Both X2 zones should be getting the pure primal velium shards dropping from all the named.
Providing the means to buy Red Adornments for items with red adornment slots is certainly a welcome change. And the more powerful War Runes retain their rarity as they still must be acquired via “flagging” (although as of a recent update they are now Heirloom).

red raid adorns are a mess. they drop so much that we have them rotting. The hierloom tag is nice as you don’t have to waste time anymore but give it a couple of weeks and they will be rotting again. They are as common as flys on stink these days.

in x4 raids sure.. BUT seeing as this update is really aimed at those who are not doing x4 content or are just breaking into it and want to buy red adorns off the merchant in thurg/rygor its a good change

Really? So will they be going back to SF and changing those as well so the marks drop in the x2 as well?

Yeah I tried to distinguish garden-variety red adornments (which are just super-sized Yellow ones) and War Runes. This won’t unlock War Runes for those guilds that are occasionally running x2 content.
I wonder if we’ll see more “ride-alongs” instead of just selling loot rights. “Can I go along with your x2 run for the raid shards?” After all people are doing ToFS x2 with 6 people these days.

@Feldon –> 4 man it more like! e.g. Paladin,Dirge,Assassin,Fury. So i would guess ride-alongs could be *profitable* 🙂
Also I know someone that 3 boxes a Paladin,Wizard,Warden along with another players Inquis (Not sure if thats counted as 4 manning or 2 manning….)

They need to either make the primal shards drop in x4 zones as well or allow pure primal shards to be used at 1 for 2 or 1 for 3 ratio when buying something.

I really wish they’d make more of the X4 gear have red slots.
All of the EM rings, necks, wrists, earings and cloaks don’t have red slots.
If you’re doing EM, the “customization” you can realistically do is very, very limited. Making the runes heirloom has stopped us from leaving them to rot, but we really need more slots we can put these in.
